WPlus9: Autumn Blessings

Hi there! Fall is in the air here now and I am thoroughly enjoying making some fall cards.  I got the chance to play with the new Autumn Blessings stamp set and coordinating dies from WPlus9 and thought I would share what I came up with.

This stamp set is so beautiful and I really enjoyed coloring the wreath my Copic markers. I created the background by blending some Distress ink onto Bristol Board card stock and speckling it with more of the same.

After coloring the images, I cut them out with the coordinating dies and added them to my card with foam tape.

Here is a list of the Copic markers that I used:

Greens:
YG99
YG97
YG95
YG01

Yellows:
YR27
YR24
YR21
YR20

Oranges:
YR18
YR04
Y17

Browns:
E57
E35
E23

Hope you have enjoyed my card today! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Muse Guest Designer

Hello! I am excited to be a guest designer for the Muse Challenge this week! You can check out all of the fun details over at the Muse blog HERE.

Here is the card I created using some stamps from WPlus9 and Penny Black. I stamped the skyline stamp from Penny Black horizontally across the card in gray ink, then stamped the sentiment in black along the lower right edge.

I stamped the flowers and leaves which are Fresh Cut Florals from WPlus9 in various colors, cut them out with the coordinating dies, and adhered them with foam tape. I added a few PPP sequins and some white Crystal Nuvo Drops to finish it up!

If you'd like to play along or learn more about the Muse Challenge, you can find all of the details on the Muse Challenge Blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Inspired By The Little Things 50th Celebration

Hello and Happy Saturday! I am thrilled to be guesting with The Inspired by The Little Things Challenge. This is their 50th challenge celebration and each of the design team members have invited a guest to join them.  I am so very honored that my dear friend Tracey McNeely picked me as her guest :)

Here is the inspiration photo for this week's challenge.

And here is what I did with it!

I used a stamp set from WPlus9 called Happy Wishes along with Strictly Sentiments and Heartfelt Holiday. I stamped the flowers and then added some detail with Prismacolor colored pencils.

I stamped the sentiment, greenery and some small flowers right onto the white cardbase, then added the cut out flowers with foam tape.  I added a few rain stones lastly.

If you'd like to check out the challenge and play along at Inspired By All The Little Things, you can find all of the details HERE or click on the image below.

All of my supplies are listed and linked below! Thanks so much for stopping by!

So Happy For You - WPlus9 Guest

Hello Friends! I am super excited to be guesting on the Wplus9 blog today! I have been a huge fan of Dawn's for several years, ever since I discovered Wplus9.

I have a card to share with you today using some gorgeous products that I just love! I don't think I'm the only one who fell head over heels in love with the Free Hand Florals stamp set. I am also using an older set, Lacey Layers, which I've had in my stash for a long time that I dearly love! It's so great for layering and building collage type cards.

So for my card, I started by watercoloring the background using a light tan dye ink on watercolor paper. When this was dry, I splattered some more of that same color ink around. I let this dry well.
I then stamped two of the medallions from the Lacey Layers set with that same tan dye ink that I used for the watercoloring. I adhered these to my watercolored panel with foam tape.

I then stamped the roses in three different shades of pink and the leaves in two shades of green. I cut those out with the matching dies. After arranging them just perfectly, I adhered them with foam tape.

The sentiment is from the Strictly Sentiments 2 stamp set. I stamped it in the same tan dye ink that I used on the medallions, and cut it out with a banner die. I adhered this just under my cluster of roses with foam tape. I felt like my card still needed something under the banner for balance, so I added one more bunch of the green leaves just underneath.

I adhered this whole panel to an A2 size top folded white card base and added a few clear sequins.

I hope you have enjoyed my post today and are inspired to create something beautiful! Thank you so much for stopping by, and a huge thanks to Wplus9 for having me for a guest!

Kay :)

#1 Just For Fun - Because It's Spring

Hello Friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We got up to 70 yesterday and the sun was shinning all day. My favorite little girl ( well she is not so little anymore) and I got out for a very long walk in the woods, one of our favorite things to do.  We hiked and rested on big rocks, waded in the creek and laughed at the crazy pug who came along with us! It was great!

Today I have a card that I made over the weekend just for fun. I am going to start posting once a week, one card that I do just for fun. I buy way too many stamps and dies, I know a lot of you can relate to this, and so many of them get put away and never used. Sometimes you just need to dig though that box of NBUS ( from Darnell) and start playing with it.

I have had Fresh Cut Flowers from WPlus9 ever since the set came out as a new release, and I have never used it. It's one of the prettiest stamp sets I have ever seen. I have SO many fabulous cards pinned on Pinterest with this set... but still it sits in my unused stamp pile.  Why? I have no idea! It's like I was saving it because it was too beautiful to use?? Weird, I know!

So anyway, that is the stamp set that I chose to use for my first "Just for Fun" post! I stamped and stamped and cut out and cut out all the little flowers and leaves from the set, and then I played around with lots of different card design ideas. I made 6  cards with this set!! They are so springy and happy and it was so fun!

This one was heavily inspired by this card, by Laura Bassen. I pretty much love everything she does, and when I saw the shaded circle, I mentally tucked that away in my "totrysoon" box. So here it is!

Pretty simple card, I just cut out a circle for a stencil and blended some Peacock Feathers distress in in it. I added the little strip of striped paper down the side. Wow, I love that! I have that tucked away in my idea box to use again too! I glued the two biggest flowers down with foam tape and tucked everything else underneath them with glue dots and Mono Adhesive. I cut out four of the Hellos and stacked them together for dimension. A tip here, I have found it SO much easier if I glue the first one down to the card and stack them from there. I was having a really hard time gluing them together before hand. Grrr...

Supplies:
Fresh Cut Flowers - WPlus9
Hello die - Clearly Besotted
Stitched Rectangle - Lawn Fawn

I will be back this week with some more of my Fresh Cut Flowers cards! I even have a Christmas one to share!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Curtain Call Challenge, NBUS, and a Clay Peek!

Hello and happy Sunday!
I hope you all are enjoying the day! I have a card to share today for the Curtain Call challenge and Darnell's NBUS Challenge, and a little peek at what I've been doing with my clay.

I think .... that this might just be my favorite card I have ever made. If you've noticed lately, I have been enthralled with winter scenes with little animals in them, and preferably foxes, but I do love most cute little critters :) Everything on this card, except for the Hello was under the tree this Christmas, and what a fabulous Christmas morning it was! haha!

I started this card by stamping the white snowflakes in the background in Versamark and embossing them with clear embossing ink. I then sponged some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink over it. The little village scene is from Cottage Cutz. I love it! It looked funny with the snow showing through the windows though, so I cut another one out of yellow and glued the yellow pieces in the windows and doors. I colored the adorable little fox with Copic markers and the Hello is cut from glittered Fun Foam. Love that stuff! I don't know about you, but I absolutely detest glueing layers of word dies together. I do it, but I don't like it. There's got to be an easier way!!

Supplies:
Snowy background-My Favorite Things
Village Die- Cottage Cutz
Snowy Hill- My Favorite Things
Fox- WPlus9
Hello die- Serendipity Stamps

So this card is going to the Curtain Call Challenge which is Soft Scarf. My little fox has a soft scarf on, so I hope this qualifies. It's also going to Darnell's NBUS Challenge, because this is all NBUS!

Now if you are still reading, here's a peek at what I've been working on with my clay. I took December off from my clay work , because it's an insanely busy month, and I wanted to be able to enjoy the holidays. I just recently got the clay back out and you'll notice in my photo that my clay work has been heavily inspired by my card making! I have been creating little winter scenes with animals in them! I've been having a lot of fun with these!

Allright! That's all I have for you today! It's going to get up to 60 degrees today and the sun is shining, so yay for that! The boys are out cutting trees down, so it's just the girl and me for most of the day. We're going to do some fun crafty things and maybe take a nice long walk with the dogs.

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Kay :)

Festive Friday #43 Reminder

Happy Halloween! Doesn't seem right to be showing a Christmas card on Halloween. Oh well, if you're like me, your Halloween cards were made months ago and you've been working on Christmas cards for weeks now :)

Just a little reminder that there is still time to join in the challenge at Festive Friday!

Here is the inspiration photo for this time.

And here is my second card with this fun inspiration photo!

This time, I didn't go with the presents theme. I went with the color scheme of red, white and grey and patterns to created a fun festive card!
I stamped the border and cut it out with a stitched die and attached that to my white panel. I then die cut the large snowflake and adhered it with foam tape. I stamped the red design and snowflake, cut them out and adhered them with foam tape also. Last I stamped the sentiment and adhered the whole white panel to an A5 card base. Fun! Fun!

Festive Friday #42 Reminder

Hello my friends!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week!
We left this morning for our two week vacation to the North East. I thought I had my Festive Friday post all scheduled, but for some reason it did not show up this morning.... so sorry I'm a bit late with this.

So better late than never, here's a  little reminder that there is still time to join in the challenge at Festive Friday!

Here is the inspiration photo for this time.

And here is my second card with this gorgeous inspiration photo!

And since I'm sitting in a motel room doing this and the kids are waiting on me to finish so I can eat some pizza with them, I'd better make this part quick :)
Everything is from Papertrey Ink except the little bow and the mistletoe, they are from WPlus9. The stitched rectangle mat and circle are from Lawn Fawn.

Festive Friday #39

Hello my friends!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week!

It's time again for another challenge at Festive Friday!

Here is the inspiration photo for this time. Some greenery, and a Merry Christmas, so many ways you could have fun with this photo!

You could even stick a bunny in it! :D

And since I had already colored and cut out several versions of this darling little bunny, I just had to incorporate him into a Christmas card. I added the cute little stocking from Papersmooches and that's all he needed to be a Christmas bunny! :) I covered the entire front of my white card base with red card stock. Then I cut out a white stitched mat and stamped the wreath and sentiment. Then I added the bunny and stocking with some foam tape to pop them up a bit.

Supplies:
Stamps: Wreath- WPlus9, Bunny-Mama Elephant, Wreath and sentiment- Papersmooches.
Dies: Stitched mat- Lil Inkers

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday!
