Hi all! Today is a very special post. The Company Paper Smooches, owned by Kim Hughes is going out of business. If you've been a card maker for very long, I'm sure you're aware of Paper Smooches and their adorable stamps and dies. It was one of the first companies I fell in love with years ago, and it's special to me because it was also my very first design team position. Kim was so sweet to me and I was beyond thrilled when she invited me to be on the design team! I can still remember the day!
So to honor Kim and Paper Smooches, some of us have gotten together to post a little farewell and best wishes to Kim!
I've made a card to share with you using some of my Paper Smooches stash. I have not linked it up in the supply links because I couldn't find it in stock anywhere, but if you are so inclined you might find it on Ebay or in one of the stamp selling groups.
So here we go, one of my favorite Paper Smooches sets and this one's for Kim :)
For the background, I used the Lawn Fawn Clouds stencil and distress inks to create the fluffy clouds. I also stenciled in the water with just a straight piece of paper. For the sand I blended some antique linen distress ink and then splattered with Rusty Hinge.
All of the cute images are from the Summer Loving and Surf and Turf stamp sets. I colored them all with Copic markers, cut them out with the coordinating dies and adhered them to my card with foam tape.
So big thanks and hugs to Kim who brought a lot to the card making community with her fun and whimsical designs! You will be missed! Best wishes for a happy future!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs,
Kay :)
