Heartfelt Holiday Wishes

Hi all! I hope you are enjoying your weekend. It's been so hot here. I'm so ready for Fall and Winter. I'm just not a fan of summer.  I'd be happy if we could jump from Spring straight into Fall. So to help me feel better about about the heat we're enduring, I made a Christmas card with some of the pretty new stamps from Pink Ink Stamp Company!

I just love this image! I wanted it to look kind of old fashioned and tea dyed, so I watercolored with Distress markers. I stamped first with Simon Says Black ink onto Master's Touch Watercolor paper. The image was cut out with a stitched rectangle die and them mounted with foam tape onto my card. I covered the base of the card with some patterned paper from Penny Black.

This one really put me in the holiday mood! This is my favorite card making time of the year, August through December! I love the fall and winter products!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and stay cool!

Hugs,

Kay :)

  1. Ooooh, you did an amazing job watercoloring this fabulous and festive image. The vintage feel is wonderful. You are so good at watercoloring! We've had a couple of days in the 70s here, which I think is more to your liking. Maybe it'll be heading your way next?! (I hope). I think they said 48 more days of summer last night. I can see you starting a countdown. :) Have a fantastic weekend! Hugs! :)

  10. Hope you don't mind that I leave comments here and/or on FB to let you know how much I LOVE your creativity. Of late, fiascos with internet/blogger are making commenting 'sporadic', so I'm hoping this one will stick! Completely charmed by your beautiful, timeless stocking, Kay...as always, your colour combinations and techniques are breath-taking! Our weather has been 'temperamental' for the past three weeks; cool, windy and pretty much a thunderstorm every day (sometimes three times a day). They're short-lived (thank heavens), but they put a damper on spending time outdoors. I'll send some 'cool' your way (not the storms!), in exchange for a bit of your heat...Deal? Deal! *grin*
