Halloween Inspirations

Hello and welcome to the second group post for the August  Papertrey Ink  Release! The new products you are seeing here will be available in the store at Papertrey Ink on August 15th at 10:00 EST.

Today is all about Halloween! We have some super cute new Halloween products coming out this month! I'll be showing off Betsy's adorable latest addition to the Tiny Town Series: Spookville and Spooky Yard, Heather's Pumpkin Expressions, which coordinates with her Autumn Pumpkins stamp set and dies, and Shaped Sayings: Halloween by Maile.

Oh my goodness! Isn't that the cutest little haunted house ever? This was such a fun project! Whenever I get the new dies for one of Betsy's Tiny Town houses, I kind of panic. I look at all the pieces and I break out in a cold sweat and I think, I'll never get this put together and have it look right. Well, I have yet to do one that didn't go together perfectly and extremely easy. So if you love these, but panic at the thought, let me assure you that they are indeed very easy to put together, not to mention fun!

I love the Spooky Yard dies that go along with this too! The little fence and tree are the perfect backdrop for this fun little house. The house I cut out of Amethyst Allure card stock. I used the Scalloped Shingles die for the roof and cut it out of Soft Stone. The chimney and windows were cut out of Smokey Shadow and the door out of Bright Buttercup. The fence is Stormy Sea, and the pumpkins, orange zest.

I cut several of the spider webs out and used them along the top and in the corners of the porch. So cute! And then I tucked several of those little ghosts  around.

I can't wait to add this to my Halloween decor this year! It will go right underneath my Halloween tree!

DIES: Tiny Town: Spookville, Tiny Town: Spooky Yard, Tiny Town: Scalloped Shingles, Tiny Town: Basics
PAPER: Amethyst Allure, Winter Wisteria, Smokey Shadow, Stampers Select White, Bright Buttercup, Orange Zest, Stormy Sea, Soft Stone

Next up is a little treat bag I made using Heather's Autumn Pumpkins and Pumpkin Expressions. I created the bag out of a half of sheet of 12 x 12 card stock. They are super easy to make. I make these little bags every year for the holidays and decorate them in fun ways. Here is a Youtube Tutorial on how to do them if you want to make one: Gift Bag

I trimmed the top of my bag with some Stormy Sea + White striped paper and tied a piece of Baker's Twine around it. I cut the big moon out with the circle from the Noted: Scalloped Square dies, and the tree is from the Spooky Yard Dies. I stamped the pumpkins in Terracotta Tile ink then used the solid images to stamp inside. I blended them using sponges and my MISTI. I also added a tiny spider web up at the top, which is from the Tiny Town: Spookville dies.

STAMPS: Autumn Pumpkins, Pumpkin Expressions
DIES: Autumn Pumpkins, Tiny Town: Spooky Yard, Tiny Town: Spookville, Noted: Scalloped Square
INK: Smokey Shadow, Terracotta Tile, Ripe Avocado,
PAPER: Smokey Shadow, Bright Buttercup, Stampers Select white, Stormy Sea + White paper pack
OTHER: Baker’s Twine, Textured gray 12x12 card stock

My last project features the new Shaped Sayings: Halloween die by Maile. I watercolored a background with Peerless watercolors. I was trying to go for the full moon in the dark sky effect. I cut one of the Shaped Sayings: Halloween dies out of Smokey Shadow and one out of white, and then layered the white on on top just slightly offset. It really helped the die to stand out having the black edge around it. I then added the little ghost and bat from Spooky Smiles stamp set. They are colored with Copic markers and cut out with the coordinating dies.

I cut a few stars out of some paper I had watercolored on and added those along with a few clear sequins.

STAMPS: Spooky Smiles
DIES: Spooky Smiles, Shaped Sayings: Halloween
PAPER: Stamper’s Select white, Smokey Shadow
OTHER: Watercolor paper, Peerless watercolors, clear sequins

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with some fun Stitched Halloween projects to share with you!
