Hello and welcome to the first group post for the August Papertrey Ink Release! The new products you are seeing here will be available in the store at Papertrey Ink on August 15th at 10:00 EST.
I have so much to show you today that I don't even know where to begin! Everything this month is so beautiful, and I have had so much fun creating with it! Today we're focusing on the Thanksgiving Holiday, which is one of my favorites. I have such fond memories of fixing Thanksgiving dinner with my Mom when I was young. We had these little crystal salt cellars that we weren't allowed to use any other time, but she let me get them out at Thanksgiving, and put one by everyone's place and fill them with salt! I thought that was the most awesome thing! The highlight of my Thanksgiving!
Now, I have an abundance of Autumn goodness to share with you!
My first project features Betsy's newest Paper Clippings: Thankful For you. It is a hostess gift and card that would be perfect to present to your hostess for Thanksgiving dinner.
I created a cute fall themed card to go on a Yankee Candle. I used the Tag Sale #10 die and cut that out of Fine Linen card stock. I trimmed the top and bottom with Canyon Clay card stock and added a tiny strip of Ripe Avocado at the bottom to tie in the green in the sentiment. The paper in the center is from the Twig Wreath paper pack, and the leaves are all from Betsy's Paper Clippings: Thankful For You. I just tied it around the rim of the candle with some tan ribbon.

And this is the matching card, created on Fine Linen card stock as well. I cut out two of the base die cuts out of white card stock, glued those down, then added the stamped leaves, and other elements on top with liquid glue.
The wheat stalks are stamped in the luscious new color Saffron Spice! I love it! It's kind of yellowish green and is beautiful for fall projects!

My next card features Betsy's new Color Pop: Autumn Mini Kit. Oh this one is glorious! I have only made one card here with it, but there are so many beautiful things included in this kit, and I have big plans to do some serious playing with it!
My card features only the preprinted papers in the kit. I used one of the background pieces, and cut it off at a diagonal. I glued this down to my card and stamped one of the sentiments from Inspired: Blessed along the edge. I cut out three of the Bountiful sentiments and glued those down along the diagonal edge of the paper. The leaves, flowers and acorns are all from the preprinted sheets as well. I cut these out with the matching dies and added them all with foam tape. This was a really quick and easy card to make!

Heather's Autumn Pumpkins stamp set is just beautiful! I love all of the little bits of greenery and leaves that you can use with the pumpkins! They made the perfect background for my card. I first stamped all of the little berries and leaves in several different fall colors on watercolor paper. I then just used a wet brush and went over them lightly to blend a little and give a watercolor effect. You don't want to use too much water when you're doing this, or you will lose the outlines and definition of your stamped images.
The pumpkins I stamped in Terracotta Tile ink and then watercolored inside the lines with Orange Zest. I was very careful not to touch the lines with my brush because I did not want them bleeding into my painting. I wanted to keep the crisp lines of the pumpkins. I used Ripe Avocado for the stems. I stamped the greeting in Ripe Avocado as well.

This is definitely one of my favorite projects from this whole release. I really love the way this card turned out. I love this new set from Dawn called Give Thanks. The sentiments are just beautiful! I especially loved this large one, and thought it looked so nice paired with the fall elements along the side.
I stamped the sentiment in permanent black ink first onto watercolor paper, then watercolored with some Distress inks. The acorns and wheat stalks, I stamped using the MISTI creating the ombre look. I then used Maile's new Fancy Foliage Details dies ( Which I LOVE!). I cut them out of some paper that I had watercolored on. I just tucked them in among the other elements, then added a few sequins to finish it up.

Maile's new Splits this month is just adorable! I love those swirling leaves! I stamped it in waterproof ink on watercolor paper, and colored it in with my Zig Clean Color Brushes. I then used a wet paintbrush to move the paint around a bit. I added a strip of paper from the Wood Block Prints and the Twig Wreath paper packs along the edge of my card, and then adhered the panel with Fun Foam.
I also splattered just a tiny bit of brown ink around and added a few orange sequins to this one.
