Sweet Inspirations

Hello and welcome to the first group post for the July  Papertrey Ink  Release! The new products you are seeing here will be available in the store at Papertrey Ink on July 15th at 10:00 EST.

We have some super sweet stuff to share with you today! Betsy has a new addition to her Tiny Town series that is absolutely adorable, and Erin has a new stamp set out called Colorful Treats with the cutest designs! We are also showcasing the new Cover Plate: Awning, which coordinates perfectly!

First up is my little Sweet Shoppe using Betsy's new Tiny Town: Sweet Shoppe Dies. Isn't that the cutest? I just love it! I had not seen a sample of this when I created mine, so it's a little bit different. Betsy cut hers out with the front door on the side of the house, so that the awning comes down across the front. I didn't realize this until I had already spent hours on my little shoppe, so I decided to leave it as is. I really like it this way, it just doesn't look as much like a candy shoppe :)

So here you can see how the awning comes down across the side of my shoppe instead of the front. That's okay though, you can see how this die can be used in other ways right? I love the way the roof comes with the extra dies to cut out the different colors. So fun!

The little trees are from the Petite Places: Pop Up Trees dies. I cut them out of Vintage Jadeite and I glued them right on the corner of the house, so they looked good from any angle. The leaves at the top of the house with the heart are also those same tree dies. I just clipped the trunks off and called them leaves.

I used some Pale Peony striped paper to make a little awning of sorts across the front of the shoppe, and I used the same paper to create a cap along the top too. I am not using this as a gift box, just a little decoration, so there was no need to leave the top open.  The hearts and the white flower were die cut with the Paper Clippings: Done With Love Detail dies, and the kraft border along the top of the front was cut out with the Noted Scalloped A1 Dies.

DIES: Tiny Town: Basics, Tiny Town: Sweet Shoppe, Paper Clippings: Done In Love, Petite Places: Pop Up Trees, Noted: Scalloped A1 Dies
PAPER: Aqua Mist, Pale Peony, Stamper’s Select White, Pale Peony + White paper, Classic Kraft

Next up is this sweet card I created with Erin's new Colorful Treats stamp set and dies. They were so much fun to color! Seriously I enjoyed coloring all of those little sprinkles!  It gave me an excuse to sit down and relax for awhile.

I blended some Aqua Mist ink along the bottom of my card and stamped the sentiment with True Black. I cut the Cover Plate: Awning out of white card stock and layered that over my blended piece. I cut the little awning pieces out of Aqua Mist and Pale Peony patterned paper, and added those to the die with foam tape. All of the delectable sweets were colored with Copic markers, cut out with the matching dies, and adhered with foam tape.

STAMPS: Colorful Treats
DIES: Colorful Treats, Cover Plate: Awning
INK: True Black, Aqua Mist
PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Aqua Mist, Pale Peony, Pale Peony + White paper
OTHER: Sequins

  1. Amazing work, Kay! I don't care where your awning sits on your little shoppe, it's fantastic and delightful. It looks to be a little shoppe to me. I adore the colors you chose and your designer brain is so clever to snip the trunks off the trees to make the leaves under the hearts. The colors are so soft and sweet. I can imagine that little building took you hours, but it was oh so worth the effort. The final effect is adorable! Wow! And then, this delightful card in addition to all the work on the shoppe. Look at those sprinkles! I can imagine how fun those must have been. All those treats look delicious! Wonderful, wonderful work! And this is only the first day. Wow!! Hugs! :)
