Okay, so I have a card to share with you today created with several stamps from Pink Ink Stamp Company. It's not a Christmas card, although, I have no problem making Christmas cards all year, it's just the movies I can't do :)
Isn't that fun? Makes me want to go to the beach, in a Woody, with a canoe!
This is actually "almost" a one layer card. I did stamp the Woody, the beach sign and the sentiment all onto watercolor paper with waterproof black ink, and watercolored them. I watercolored some ocean and sky in the background along with the sand and a few little blades of sea grass around the car and sign. I wanted the canoe on top, but I was totally unsure of my ability to stamp it and actually get it on top of the car, so.... I stamped it separately, watercolored it, cut it out, and then glued it on top. It's alright to do that. Sometimes you just have to do things like that, if you want your canoe sitting straight on top of your car anyway :)
After I was done with all of the watercoloring, I let it dry and then splattered some of the brown and blue watercolor paint around. I used Peerless watercolors for most of this. I just pulled out a couple of Distress markers for the grey on the wheels and the beach sign.
Thanks so much for stopping by! All of the stamps I used are linked below!
Enjoy your summer!
Kay :)

Oh, how fabulous, Kay! Beautiful watercoloring for this beach scene! Great idea to color and fussy cut the canoe, too...I love it! In fact, I think this card should be framed :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous card, Kay!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic card, Kay! I'm totally channeling all my Beach Boys favorite songs right now. Let's go canoeing now...Canoeing Girl...NO? Oh well, the woody part works and the beach. Seriously though...amazing work and I loved your work around to get the canoe on straight. Totally okay to do what will work best for you. And for the record, I totally agree with what you said about Christmas movies in July! Hugs!! :)
ReplyDeleteHa! I'm with you about the Christmas in July thing. Love my Hallmark channel, have it on while I'm card making, but need a break from Christimas movies! Meanwhile, no break needed for sweet little woodies carrying canoes. Love your artwork. And love your cards!
ReplyDeleteSummer goes away quickly as it is, I want to hold onto every moment instead of thinking about Christmas! Your card is a real treat - a sweet, summery scene!
ReplyDeleteHi Kay!! Playing catch up after vacation! I took a run through your blog and see I have missed a while lot of FABULOUSNESS! Your work continues to inspire me and knock my socks off!
