Summer Inspirations

Hello and welcome to the second group post for the May  Papertrey Ink  Release! The new products you are seeing here will be available in the store at Papertrey Ink on May 15th at 10:00 EST.

Today is all about summer and all things beachy! I love tropical and ocean themed products so much! They are second only to Christmas! I adore all of the new products that Papertrey Ink is releasing this month!  I know you will too!

Today we are showcasing the newest in the Paper Doll series by Betsy Veldman, Dress Up Dolls: Summer Fun ( my favorite in the series ) Keep Swimming by Heather Nichols, and Simple Seashells by Nichole Heady. Along with these three amazing stamp sets, I've also incorporated the new Sun & Surf Stencil Collection by Betsy and the Sand Swatch stamps by Nichole!

First up is my card that I created with Heather's new Keep Swimming stamp set and dies. I stamped everything in waterproof black ink and watercolored with my Peerless watercolors. I cut the whale and fish out with the matching dies,, and adhered those with foam tape.

This is a really fun set with some fabulous sentiments!

STAMPS: Keep Swimming
DIES: Keep Swimming
INK: True Black
PAPER: Stamper’s Select
OTHER: Watercolor paper, Peerless watercolors, sequins

Oh this new set Simple Seashells by Nichole is so lovely! Being a native Floridian, I love seashells and everything that goes along with the beach!

On this card, I blended Hawaiian Shores and Tropical Teal inks onto some watercolor paper. I then layer the Sun & Surf Stencil of the waves over my paper and dabbed through the stencil with a wet sponge. It picked up some of the ink and left a lighter impression of the stencil. I also splattered some water around to give it a splotchy look.  I stamped and cut out one of the waves from the What The Doodle: Waves stamp set and glued that down with foam tape. I stamped the beautiful shells using the MISTI. I used only one color for each shell, but stamped several times to get the darker shades. I then tucked them under the waves with some foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment in black ink, and added a few tiny white dots and some sequins.

STAMPS: Simple Seashells, Walk By Faith, What The Doodle: Waves
DIES: Simple Seashells, What The Doodle: Waves
INK: True Black, Tropical Teal, Amethyst Allure, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Hawaiian Shores
PAPER: Stamper’s Select White

OTHER: Watercolor paper, Sun & Surf Stencil Collection

And last, but certainly not least, is this adorable little beach girl! I had a lot of fun with this card! I love the new Summer Fun Paper dolls!  I first stenciled my background using the sun rays stencil from the Sun & Surf Stencil Collection. I stenciled it once then turned it slightly and stenciled again to get twice as many rays. I used the Sand Swatch stamps to create a beach for her along the bottom. I stamped it separately and then cut out different parts and glued those down. I then stamped and cut out the wave from What The Doodle: Waves set. I'm getting a lot of use out of that wave! I have more plans for it yet! I glued that down flat along the edge of the sand. I colored the little girl and all of her accessories and added her with some foam tape.

The sentiment is from Keep Swimming. I stamped it on Smokey Shadow card stock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I cut it out with the Tag Sale #10 banner.
