Hello! I'm happy to be joining in on the Papertrey Ink May blog hop this month!
The inspiration photo is so pretty! I love the colors! It spoke watercolor to me, so I had to play along!
So here's what I did!
I watercolored my background with Papertrey Ink dye inks in Hawaiian Shores, Hibiscus Burst, Summer Sunrise, and Mint Julep. I splattered a little bit of Hawaiian Shores and Hibiscus Burst with my paint brush. I stamped the floral cluster from the Don't Forget To Write MIM kit and added that with foam tape. I cut out three of the Sending dies ( also from the MIM kit) and layered those, then adhered them to the top of the floral cluster.
I stamped and added the butterfly at the top from the Color Pop Butterflies MIM mini kit with foam tape. I meant to be almost done at this point, but I goofed it up :( I stamped love underneath the floral cluster and it didn't work out. You know how that is. You finish the card AND THEN you decide to stamp the sentiment!! As many cards as I've made in my lifetime, you would think I would know this, but no..... Sooooooo I had to cover up my boo boo with the pink flowers. By this time the Love was too large and too much, so I had to use the small "hugs". I stamped this on the banner from Tag Sale #10 and tucked it under the edge of the flowers. Whew! Disaster averted!! haha! A little busier than I had planned, but I like it :)
INK: Stormy Sea, Hawaiian Shores, Hibiscus Burst, Summer Sunrise, Mint Julep
PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Soft Stone
OTHER: Watercolor paper, sequins

ReplyDeleteI'll bet you could right a book on diverting card disasters with all the makes you do, Kay! In fact, I'll take 1% of the sales from that book because we all do them, but it takes a real designer to remain calm and do a brilliant work-around! This challenge was definitely right up your alley and you bowled a strike with your stunning watercolored card!! Enjoy your day!! Hugs, Darnell
