Okay so I have totally fallen in love with felt! I haven't been able to make any of my clay ornaments in so long and I miss the process so much, but I have found away to create them with felt and dies! This is the Snowflake die that I designed for Jen, only I have added the leaves from the Fresh N' Fruity Confetti Cuts. I did a little bit of embroidery too!
I guess embroidery is a bit like riding a bike, you never forget. Because I haven't done embroidery since I was a kid, but for some reason, I can remember how to do every single one of the stitches I learned so long ago.
This was really fun and appeased my need to arrange little shapes and decorate them like I love to do so much with my clay! So if you don't want to invest in clay and go to the trouble to do all of that, yes, its a bit of trouble, you can just make felt ornaments!
For this one, I just cut a circle out with a random circle die and then arranged the little hearts from the Love Notes Confetti Cuts. I stitched those down with a running stitch and then added the little leaves from Fresh N' Fruity and stitched those into place with just three straight stitches!
The center yellow piece is cut from the Tag Me Too Confetti Cuts. I did a few little french knots and a few lazy daisy stitches to add some interest, then whip stitched the whole thing together with white thread. There is a little piece of batting inside both of my ornaments, just so they wouldn't be super flat.
These were really so much fun and actually quite quick and easy! There are so many fun ways you can use dies for other things besides cards! My mind is going crazy now! haha!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Make sure you peek at what all the other girls have done for the hop! Your next stop on the hop is the sweet Amy Rohl!
