Happy Monday!
I have been sitting on a BIG secret for two months now and it has been a very very hard one to keep! Mostly because I have been in love with this stamp company since I first began stamping years ago! I still have drawers and drawers full of wood mounted Penny Black stamps. I still have 15 year old catalogs from them! I adore Penny Black stamps! Who doesn't?
I am SO thrilled to finally be able to announce that I am one of the new Simplicity Sisters for Penny Black!! There is a new blog dedicated to using Penny Black stamps and creative dies in a clean and simple way.
Check out SIMPLICITY at it's best to find out who the other new Simplicity Sisters ( crazy talented ) are and read all about the new team and what we will be bringing you every week!
I have already been playing with some of the fabulous new Penny Black releases and had to share a card I made recently :)
For this cute but quick card I just sponged a bit of distress ink on a piece of watercolor paper, spritzed with water. I mounted that onto an A2 card base. I cut out three of the rejoice word dies and layered them together and glued them down. I then colored the cute little penguin with Copic markers and fussy cut him out. I mounted him and the tiny star with foam tape.
Penny Black products used:
30-252 Winter Friends
51-060 Exultations
51-090 Little Ornaments

Hugs,
Kay :)

Yay!!! I'm so excited to be working with you on this amazing team. And your penguins card looks awesome!! Love it, Kay! (Did you use a blending tool to color the background? I'm always having trouble to get a nice distressed background.)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sweet comment May! I used the round mini blending tool for my background. I have trouble getting a smooth blend too, unless I use watercolor paper. It blends much better than plain card stock. :)
Delete*fist pump* YES!! Super congrats on this new role, Kay!! Your and Penny Black = oh, the magic that will unfold - as it already has with this abundantly adorable card you've created! Now I'll 'have' to add PB products to my wish list! Fortunately, my 'local distributor' in Edmonton can order them, sooooo, we know what that means! Looking forward with wild anticipation at all the gorgeous creations you'll be sharing with us! Excited for you, and for us!
