My heavens! I almost missed my Card Concept post! I am usually on the ball with this, and have my post scheduled days ahead of time, but something happened this week. I didn't even know today was Wednesday! I was still thinking it was closer to Monday or something. Thought I had scads of time! Oh well, it's still Wednesday, so technically I'm not late, right? ;)
The new challenge is monochromatic purple... did you hear that? Yes, the whole entire card must be in lovely shades of my favorite color... purple. Purple has been my favorite color since I was born. I love it! I don't like the pinky purple as much. My favorite shade is periwinkle purple, which is a tad bit on the blue side.
Here is the inspiration photo for this challenge:
And here is what I did with it:
All in lovely shades of purple :D The background squares are cut with a neat color blocking template from Taylored expressions. The flowers and lace I cut out with my Silhouette Cameo. The leaf and swirl are from Memory Box and the little corner photo holder thing is from My Favorite Things.
Stop by and see what the other designers have created and I hope you'll join us for the challenge at The Card Concept!
Do you want to see a little peek of some things I've been working on?? Oh I am so loving working with my clay right now. I'm sorry to all of my card buddies, that I haven't been posting as many cards. I just can't pull myself away from the clay!
Here's a peek! :)
Springy things!! Yay!!
Have a wonderful happy rest of the week!
Hugs,
Kay :)
Holy clayolie, Kay, your clay work is divine!! I can why that would be addicting and hold your interest! But I'm glad to see you make cards, too, and this purple masterpiece of color blocking made me gasp out loud! Gorgeous!! Have fun! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteOh Kay, what a stunning card!!! Purple really suits you well! I love your color blocking on this card, and all the lovely details you placed so perfectly! Your flowers are so pretty, especially with the leaf and swirl, and I think they complement the lace border and corner photo holder so beautifully! I guess it's evident, I'm such a huge fan of your art!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sneak peek...oooh, I love the pastel colors and the butterflies are stunning! I gave the 2 ornaments to my mom and sister at Easter (even though they are Christmas themed), and they both squealed!!! Thank you for that! Of course, now I need more, so you'll get no complaints from me for working on clay right now :-)
Thanks so much for sharing your gorgeous card and inspiring us to join in the challenge...count me in! Hugs, Barb
Oh my goodness, Kay! Your card is beautiful. Love all the shades of purple. It's Amy's favorite color, too...gotta remember this card idea! You are always able to place your pieces just perfectly. The love and care you put into your cards sure makes them stand out. And then...I see your sneak peek and I literally gasped(did you hear it, I was pretty loud) and my jaw dropped! What gorgeous colors and designs. I adore butterflies and could see having a whole tree full of your butterfly ornaments. Wow! I keep saying it, but only because it is so true. You are extremely talented and I love to see what you create. Your work brings joy to my heart. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Kay but your clay ornaments are amazing! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the butterfly ones! May have to purchase one of those. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card Kay. Everything looks so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteStunning card,Kay!! I love all the different shades and the details!! So so beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with your Clay creations...i SO love the butterflies!!!! SOOO pretty!!
I am so happy to see how well your clay ornaments are selling. Oh...darn I'm loving the sneak peaks the butterflies are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove your card for this week ,I sure hope to play . I have had that happen where I have no idea what day it is when things just get too busy.
Your card is so exceptional with all of those panels and colors perfectly coordinated! I love all the elements you added to the mix! And the clay ornaments?! WOW!!! They're just outstanding!
ReplyDeleteSorry for late commenting (the long drive of going nowhere set me back a bit) but I'm here - chuckling over Darnell's "holy clayolie" comment! she's right though: your ornaments are second-to-none, stunning beauties! If I had talent like yours, I'd be creating these 24/7!! Gorgeous! Your card, too, another piece of lovely art! Purple looks good on you! The colour blocking template from TE has piqued my interest. I rely on dies for straight lines these days, as my cutters seem perpetually slightly askew, which makes me crazy...or perhaps they're straight and I'm slightly askew. Awesome post, and in the midst of the snow that keeps falling, I'm sitting with a mega-watt smile and warm fuzzies for having visited you!! Hugs~c
