Some Tasty Christmas Treats!

Hello!!

Well, we are in the final countdown to Christmas, " crunch time"! I finished up my Christmas shopping today. Yay! I have no more baking to do until Christmas eve. The girl and I are all snuggled in the house listening to Christmas music and planning our weekend. The boys are gone for the weekend to pick up a relative that's going to spend Christmas with us, so we have us an all girl's weekend :)

Anyway, wanted to share a card I made a few days back with some of my cute Purple Onion Designs stamps. This is one of my all time favorite cards I've ever made, I do believe. I don't know if it's the colors or the cute food! Haha!

The funny thing, or the terrible thing, however you choose to look at it, is that during all of the snow and ice we had a week or so ago, my craft room window leaked, and this card was totally ruined. It was sitting on the counter under the window, and was drenched in water. I was SO relieved that I had taken pictures of it, but so sad that I could not send it to someone. My husband kept telling me that it was fine and that I ought to go ahead and send it to someone.... seriously honey??? It was so warped I wouldn't have even been able to get it in the envelope!! Men!! haha!

So if I get a wild hair one day, I might make it again. If not, I'll just look at the picture and remember :)

I used the stamp set Holiday Sweets by Carolyn Draws at Purple Onion Designs. I colored each of the images with Copics, cut them out, and layered them on the white panel with foam tape.

Supplies:

Paper: Stampin Up, GinaK
Stamps: Holiday Sweets- Purple Onion Designs
Dies: Stitched rectangle-Lil Inkers
Other: Copic Markers

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by at such a fun but busy time of year. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!!

Love and hugs,

Kay :)

  1. Super cute card - love the soft colors combined with the kraft paper. And there must be some POD curse going around because I had a cute penguin card made several weeks ago that met a bad end too. In my hurry to put things away for the long Thanksgiving weekend of guests, I threw it in a drawer. along with everything else I could stuff in there. When I opened the drawer it got crumbled up in the top. Not salvageable at all! Fortunately it was already photographed and posted so not all was lost.

  2. How darling is this card; I can totally see why it's a favourite! Soft colours, kraft, cutie-patootie treat (the cupcakes with the holly sprigs...seriously awesome!) - absolutely fabulous! How unfortunate that it experienced water damage! I'm hoping you do have a 'wild hair' (I've not heard that expression before..I'm using it for sure. Often!!) and recreate it (or several). It's just tooooo darn adorable to be 'only' a memory! Love your husband's suggestion that you mail it anyway - obviously he thinks it's pretty sweet too (in his 'guy' way!). Enjoy bonding with your girl; sounds like a most excellent weekend ahead! Merry Christmas if I don't have a chance to pop by beforehand; you've been a wonderful 'find' this year!!

  4. Oh Kay, this is adorable! I can definitely see why it was a favorite of yours. It demonstrates your wonderful cardmaking skills. It looks so yummy and festive. Your coloring skills are terrific. I'm SO sorry it got damaged. I, too, giggled at your husband's comment. Way to be supportive, right? What a keeper. :) I hope you and your daughter have a fabulous girls' weekend and do lots of fun things! Hope you get a wild hair, too, and recreate it!
