More Flower Medallion Dies

Hello! I'm back with some more projects that I've created with the new Flower Medallion dies coming to Papertrey Ink on March 15th, at 9:00 PM EST!

I wanted to show you how you can use mediums other than paper to create some fun and unique ornaments and gifts!

This time I used the Flower Medallion dies to cut out felt and stitched it into a pretty little tree ornament. I have an Easter tree, so this one I did in pastels to go on that. I kept the stitching to a minimum, because really I wasn't in a stitchy mood :) I used sequins and some seed beads to attach the little yellow ovals to each petal and also the center circle. I stitched these through all of the layers except for the back layer.

I then cut out another background piece from the Classic Kraft felt added a layer of batting and stitched those together around the edges using a overhand stitch. I added the hanger as I stitched around.

This really came together so quickly and I was so happy with the way it turned out! Can't wait to do some in Christmas colors for my Christmas tree and gifts!

And this one is one of my favorites using Fun Foam from the craft store! I cut two of the back pieces out of gray and sandwiched the hanger between those layers, then added the remaining layers with just my ATC tape runner. You could also use Score Tape.

I added some Rain Stones to the outer petals and center, and some accent dots with Nuvo Crystal Drops.

And I had to make one more little note card with the Noted Scalloped Square folded gift card. They just fit on these little note cards so perfectly! Love that!

I used acrylic paint to add some tiny accent dots on the petals, along with some 4mm pink sequins.

That is all for me today! The Flower Medallion Dies will be available at Papertrey Ink on March 15th at 9:00 pm EST!

Be sure to stop by Nichole's blog to see all of the inspiration there!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  15. Kay these are fabulous, the delicate stitching on the kraft felt is so sweet and then the fun foam is brilliant. I agree with Marybeth, these are so similar to your ornaments and involves a different kind of hand work!
