Introducing Coin Purse II

Hello and welcome to the second Papertrey Ink group post! All of the products you are seeing today will be available at the Papertrey Ink online store at 10:00pm EST on January 15th.

I first want to thank you all for the very sweet and funny comments you left me here on the blog, Facebook and Instagram about my Tuna Can Ornament! I laughed so hard all day yesterday reading them! And just for your information, I'm not a big fan of tuna either. My hubby ate that tuna for me! I can only stand it with lots of bar-b-que sauce and Fritos and it's been a long time since I did that! haha! Anyway, you all seriously made my day!

Okay today we have something so fun to share! Erin has come out with Coin Purse II dies! Now I haven't sewn in years, but apparently it's much like riding a bike, once you learn, you never forget, because I threaded up my needle and went right to town stitching up this cute little purse! I even remembered how to do a lazy daisy stitch, from way back when I used to embroider things, and added a few of those along the top.

This is what it looks like when it's open. Erin has a wonderful video on here blog HERE to help you get started making it. It helped me a lot. I would have messed up on a few things had I not watched the video first. Now that I've made one, I could whip them out pretty fast I think. They are really fun to do!

And here it is with with it all closed up with the little button loop! Isn't that adorable! I embellished the top flap with felt that I cut out using the Button Stacks and Bitty Button Stacks dies. I just added a button on top of those and stitched through all the layers a couple of times. I even remembered how to do a lazy daisy stitch, so added a few of those at the ends of my flowers. This was really fun!

And here's a close up so you can easily find my boo boos! :) I just have a few crooked stitches, but for my first one, I think it's pretty cute! It won't be my last one, that's for sure! I'm going to be adding lots of PTI felt to my shopping cart soon!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Remember all of the new products will be available at Papertrey Ink on January 15, 10:00 PM EST!

Be sure and check out what all the other amazing design team members have done with these new products!

Hugs,

Kay :)

  1. Oh my gosh, how sweet is this?! You did an outstanding job on this little coin purse. Yay for great memories on how to do embroidery stitches. Gosh you even cluster masterfully in felt! :) Seriously though what a lovely little project and I've no doubt you can make each one even more beautiful than the previous one. Big hugs to you! :)

  3. Okay...now you're just showing off....LOL Just kidding....keep showing off your talent all you want....we are the beneficiaries. You really inspire me. Your little coin purse is perfect for some projects I'm working on right now using the scratch off labels. I wanted to attach a coin on the cards to use for scratching off the hidden message and this little purse idea is perfect. TFS Jan D., FL

  15. Well, this purse seals it: your talents truly are limitless! Embroidery and lazy daisy stitches: can't remember the last time I dabbled with those! Your sweet little purse is darling; practical AND cute AND classy! And you've reminded me that the cross-stitch I started when my nephew was born is still unfinished...and he'll be four in March! Time to recollect my 'x' making abilities...
