MFT December Release Countdown Day 2

Hello! I am back for day 2 of the My Favorite Things Release Countdown!  Only 2 more days until all of the fabulous new stamps and dies will be available!

Be sure to check out the My Favorite Things Blog to see a full reveal of today's products, and to see what all the other fabulous design team members have done! All of the new products will be available Tuesday, December 8th, at 10:00pm EST!

This card features the new and totally adorable Sweet Safari Stamp set and Die-namics, along with The Leafy Green Die-namics and Etched Tribal Background stamp. The cute little tiger and the green leaves are colored with Copic markers. The leafy fronds in the background were cut out of watercolor paper that I had sponged different green distress inks onto. I also stamped and cut out a few flowers from the Mini Modern Blooms set to cluster around the tiger.

Inside the stitched rectangle frame there is a lightly watercolored background. The sentiment is white embossed on Black Licorice card stock and I added a few white highlights in the center of the flowers with my white gel pen. As always, had to throw on a few fabulous PPP sequins to finish it up!

I have a confession to make. I thought this cute little zebra was a baby giraffe at first. I colored him not once, but TWICE in giraffe colors until it finally dawned on me that it was not a giraffe! I should always ask my daughter about these things first, because she knew it was a zebra right away. She said "Mom, giraffes don't have stripes." So there you go! And here I was thinking I was going to make this cute card with the mama and baby giraffes! haha! Anyway, it's a zebra folks, and now colored properly! I paired him up with some pretty flowers from the Blissful Blooms set to create a lovely little Safari scene!

I added a few leafy springs from the Leafy Green Die-namics and a nice watercolored background behind the circle cut out.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing all of the new products in use! They are so awesome!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Don't forget to stop by the MFT blog to see more wonderful things you can do with these fun new products!

See you back tomorrow!

  9. These are both adorable! I can see where the mistake could me made about the zebra being a giraffe. I actually saw it as a giraffe as well. Maybe you need to wear your safari goggles when working with this set. ;0) Cute, cute nonetheless!!

  10. Ummm...confession from me, I thought the first one was a kitty cat, until I read the words Sweet Safari set. I can totally see the mix up on the zebra and I have a feeling others thought the same. :) Mix ups aside you've made two completely adorable cards with your watercolors and coloring and scene building. No mix up about this, you are an amazing card designer. Your color choices are always bright and clean and your clustering still makes me swoon with delight. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week! Hugs!
