Card Concept #13

Hello my friends!

It's time for another fabulous challenge at The Card Concept!

This weeks challenge is to create a baby card.

Believe it or not, as long as I've been stamping, I have never own anything close to a baby stamp or set of stamps... but , when Lawn Fawn came out with their recent new release, they had a darling new baby set! I have to admit, I did not buy it for the baby stuff, I bought it for the absolutely adorable bunnies and the umbrella! Not that I don't like babies. I had two and I adored them as babies, and  still do :), I'm just not drawn to baby stuff.

Anyway, here is what I did for my baby card :)

I watercolored!! Yes I did! I haven't watercolored in 20 years, but it is all the rage now, so I pulled out my watercolors and painted that background there. It shows up better in real life. It looks pretty washed out in my photo here, but it's there! I had a hard time with my paper warping, and Miss Darnell informed me that I need to use thicker watercolor paper. I just used my 120lb white card stock. I ironed it... I'll try the watercolor paper next time ;)

I colored those cute little images with Copics, cut them out and popped them up with foam tape. The stamps and the stitched mat are all from Lawn Fawn. The scalloped frame is from My Favorite Things.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Stop by and see what the other designers have created and  I hope you'll join us for the challenge at The Card Concept!

Hugs,

Kay :)

  5. Oh Kay, this card is absolutely darling! Your scalloped frame and stitched mat are the perfect way to frame out your adorable scene! I love how you water colored your background in 2 colors...so soft and lovely, and your Copic coloring is just beautiful! A really, really darling card!!! I hope you'll consider posting this beauty in the Lawn Fawn Flickr gallery...Kelly Marie will flip when she sees it!

May I ask: Is the stitched frame from the 'Journaling Card die set'? I love the rounded corners and the size is perfect for a few images and a sentiment :-)

Thank you so much for your sweet birthday wishes, Kay! You are such a dear friend!!!

  9. Darling baby card in every way, Kay. The frame, the images, the water-colouring: cute AND elegant, which you do with such finesse! Your post is sheer delight, especially the part where you 'clarify' that you like babies! Too funny! Fabulous card and now, with this delight as inspiration, I have no excuse not to play! Hugs~c
