Card Concept #8

Well another Wednesday has rolled around again. The weeks just fly by these days. It's time again for a new challenge at The Card Concept. I have to tell you that I had the hardest time choosing a winner for the butterfly challenge. There were SO many stunning cards and I could have easily picked 20 winners! No kidding! They were all so amazing! Anyway, I hope you'll join us this time around too :)

The new challenge is to use an umbrella on your card. When you think of an umbrella, you normally think or rain right? Well, I couldn't help but think of a bright beach umbrella out in the warm sunshine. Can you tell it's been a long winter here :) haha!

Here is the inspiration photo for this challenge:

And here is what I did with it:

I really had a lot of fun creating this card. It took a while though :) I cut the umbrella, sun and cloud out with my Silhouette Cameo, with files from Miss Kate's Cutables. The sand was cut from a die from MFT and the water was just a scalloped border turned upside down :) The stitched main die is from Lil Inkers.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Stop by and see what the other designers have created and  I hope you'll join us for the challenge at The Card Concept!

Hugs,

Kay :)

  1. Oh my gosh, Kay! Leave it to you to take the idea and run with it in a unique way. Yep, I would have thought about rain umbrellas, but I adore what you have come up with! You found some great shapes at Miss Kates and pulled them together to create such a fun beachy theme. Love it!! Thanks for sharing this fabulous card!! Happy Wednesday!

  7. Beach scene + beach umbrella = brilliant! Love this, especially since we had (yet another) blast of winter over the past couple of days! I'm ready for sun...and I'm going to try really hard, should the temperatures warm up, NOT to complain about being too hot. Your card has me mega-watt smiling!! Fabulous!!

  12. Such a darling card! I love the umbrella. Something our family uses in the sun often. Can't be too careful with pale complexions! Beautiful card, Kay. It's got me longing for the beach.
