Mom & Me Valentine Inspiration

Hello and welcome to the second group post for the December
Papertrey Ink  Release! The new products you are seeing here will be available in the store at Papertrey Ink on December 15th at 10:00 EST!

Today I have some fun projects to share with you that would be fun to create with small children, or even medium sized children or large children. Haha! I would probably fall into the latter group and I really enjoyed making these ;)

We have two new products that I'm showcasing today, Betsy's newest Paper Dolls: Puppy Love ( which I do love because I love puppies), and Nichole's Jumping For Joy stamp set and dies, which is reminiscent of the old fashioned Jumping Jack toys that were popular years ago.

This is a cute little Valentines bag that I made with my Gift Box Punch board, that would be so fun to fill with Valentines candy for school treats or small gifts for neighborhood kids.  You could have the bags made up ahead of time and let the kids decorate them to make things go a bit faster, although the bags are not hard to do, if you wanted to let the kids help with that part also.
I made the bag out of Pure Poppy + White patterned paper. The panel I cut out with the Noted Scalloped A2 dies, and sponged some Aqua Mist ink along the lower half. I cut a small piece of Vintage Jadeite + white paper to create a little hill. The images were colored with Copic markers, cut out and adhered with foam tape.

The little heart tag is from Valentines Pin up dies. I stamped the sentiment from Dress Up Dolls: Puppy Love and tied it on with some Baker's Twine.

STAMPS: Dress Up Dolls: Basics, Dress Up Dolls: Puppy Love
DIES: Dress Up Dolls: Basics, Dress Up Dolls: Puppy Love, Valentine Pin Ups, Noted: Scalloped A2
INK: True Black
PAPER: Pure Poppy + White paper, Vintage Jadeite + White Paper, Stamper’s Select White

OTHER: Gift Bag Punch Board, Baker’s Twine

OH isn't this cute! These are so fun to put together and turn out just adorable! Now you really need brads for these, but I didn't have any, so I used some sequins held on with seed beads. They were sewn through with white embroidery floss. It worked perfectly! So, if you are like me and gave all of your brads away a couple of years ago thinking those thing would never be back in style, you know that you can use sequins and beads instead :) P.S. I live 100 miles from the nearest Michaels or Hobby Lobby, so that was out of the question...
Anyway, the bear is cut out of Classic Kraft card stock and I stamped his features in Classic Kraft and True Black.

The little bear is mounted on the Jumping For Joy card base which has a slit he fits through, then I stamped the sentiment on white card stock and adhered that over top. I mounted the whole thing on a card base covered with the Pure Poppy dotted paper.

STAMPS: Jumping For Joy
DIES: Jumping For Joy, Jumping for Joy Card
INK: Classic Kraft, True Black
PAPER: Stamper’s Select white, Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean, Pure Poppy +White

OTHER: Beads, Sequins, thread

  1. Oh boy, or should I say oh girl!?? That paper doll girl with the puppy is adorable! I love the coloring and that she's holding the heart. So fun. I've seen the gift box punch boards, but never got it. Maybe I need to rethink that. Hmmmmm... The teddy bear jumping is adorable. Brilliant idea to use the bead and sequin sewn on. Everybody's got those now for shakers, maybe you've just started a new sensation! :) Hee, hee! Happy hugs to you!

  6. Your Valentine card is so cute with the sweet girl and dog!! And, the bear is adorable!! I don't blame you for giving away your brads. I don't use them very often. But, I still have quite a few for the occasional masculine card.
