Christmas Botanicals

Hello! I hope those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving had a good one! We had two wonderful ones with lots of family and friends.

I have a couple of cards to share with you today that I made with a cute stamp set from Memory Box called Christmas Botanicals.

I have been wanting to try coloring on kraft card stock for some time now. I've seen so many pretty cards done this way, so I finally found some time to give it a try. I stamped the wreath with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored it with Copic markers. I added some white highlights with a white Prismacolor pencil. I also speckled it with some white acrylic paint when I was finished.

I stamped the sentiment in the center of the wreath... very carefully... then I cut the whole panel out with a stitched rectangle die,  and layered it onto a card that I had covered with some red gingham paper.

And here is another one I did in more Kay style :) The background is Peacock Feathers distress ink on watercolor paper. Again, I colored the wreath with Copic markers, and added a few tiny white dots with acrylic paint. I cut the panel out with a stitched rectangle die. I created some background paper to mount this on by randomly stamping images from this set in red ink onto the coral card stock.

I added a few clear sequins and a sentiment in black!

Here is a photo of a couple more backgrounds I created with some of the stamps in this set. So fun! I don't know what I'm going to do with them yet though!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! The products I used are listed and linked below!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Your second, a al 'Kay-style,' *grin* is equally as striking. The peacock blue certainly makes the colours pop! Those backgrounds are fabulous; I know you'll design something magical with them...

Your coloring on kraft is fabulous and reminds me that I still have not tried that myself ... pinning!! I'm glad you had TWO wonderful Thanksgivings!! Hugs, Darnell

  15. Seems a shame to cover up your handmade background pattern paper for your 2nd card, but with a card front as stunning as that, it's worth it! Both cards are fabulous, Kay!

  18. Hi Kay,
I agree with Jeanne, I love them all! Your colorful backgrounds inspire me to try that more often. Your coloring on kraft is amazing, the depth of the image and your gorgeous coloring make it look so real! Of course the "Kay" style is stunning as always! I'm trying adding white with acrylic paints too since I keep seem to get my gel pens clogged up. LOVE the white details you add!!!
