Hello and welcome to the first group post for the October Papertrey Ink Release! The new products you are seeing here will be available in the store at Papertrey Ink on October 15th at 10:00 EST!
Today I'm showcasing a fun new stamp set and dies called Christmas Cuts and Christmas Cuts Sentiments by Lizzie Jones!
These were so quick and easy to make, not to mention fun! If you are in need of some tags for your gifts this year and want to mass produce them quickly, this die set is just perfect!
I just watercolored some pretty backgrounds, and cut them out with a circle die that was just slightly smaller than the tag dies. Then I cut the Christmas Cuts tags out of Stamper's Select white card stock and glued the watercolored circle behind them.
I stamped the sentiments in the new color Dark Indigo, then added Baker's Twine through the hole and tied a bow around the twine.
I love how easy it would be to customize these tags to match your wrapping paper or gift bags! I was even thinking you could cut a piece of your wrapping paper to go on the back of the tag instead of the watercolored piece. You can also use patterned paper, card stock or you can leave them plain with no backing. Lots of fun options!
Okay, so I have to be honest with you here, because someone will catch this, and notice that the snowflake tag and card are the same :) I was about to write up my blog post and I realized that I was supposed to make one tag and one card for this post.... but did I see that the first time.... noooooo.... I made three tags instead... Soooo, I took the twine and ribbon off of the snowflake tag and made it into a card :) Voila!
I blended some Spring Rain and Hawaiian Shores ink onto Fresh Snow Linen card stock and speckled with those same colors for my background. I added the tag with foam tape and cut the ribbon and bow out with the new Simple Gift Bow Dies and adhered that above the tag with foam tape. I love that bow! So fun!

Look at all those great tags! So pretty. I adore your watercolored backgrounds that show through the tags. Great idea to use wrapping paper, too. You are forgiven for being completely human in not catching the requirements. I think you also show the wonderful versatility of being able to do just what you did! Wonderful, festive work! Big hugs to you! :)

ReplyDeleteLove how you added color to your tags - just stunning with the white! And I smiled at how you saved the situation by adding the tag to make a card. If the tag is removable, it could be used on a Christmas tree by the recipient.
ReplyDeleteReally wonderful is each of them. Fabulous !

Gorgeous tags. And, we have all made mistakes--what you have actually done is show how easily it would be to create a card out of a beautiful tag--a great bonus feature of today's products.
