Papertrey Ink Release In Review

Hello and welcome to the Release in Review post for the October  Papertrey Ink  Release! The new products you are seeing here will be available in the store at Papertrey Ink on October 15th at 10:00 EST!

I have a card to share with you today created with the beautiful Botanical Blocks IV stamp set by Nichole. It's such a pretty set! With the previous Botanical Blocks stamps, I have used watercolors, so I decided to do something a little different with this one, and go with my Copic markers.

I stamped the image with black ink and colored it with Copic markers. I then took a 5.5 x 4.24 piece of New Leaf card stock and stamped the pine from Holiday Greens Borders on it using New Leaf ink. I then splattered that with white acrylic paint. After this was dry, I cut the rectangle piece out using the Botanical Blocks die. I added foam tape to the back side of this piece and mounted it over the colored image. This was all adhered to a top folded A2 card base.

I stamped the sentiment in True Black ink and cut it out with the banner die from Tag Sale #10, and added that to the bottom with some foam tape.

STAMPS: Botanical Blocks IV, Holiday Greens Borders

Introducing NEW! Mini Kit: Holiday Hugs

Hello and welcome to the third group post for the October  Papertrey Ink  Release! The new products you are seeing here will be available in the store at Papertrey Ink on October 15th at 10:00 EST!

Today we are introducing Betsy's newest Make it Market Mini Kit: Holiday Hugs! What a fun kit this is too! Such a cute idea, and wonderful way to dress up a small gift! The arms of the Santa and snowman can be wrapped around so many different things, a jar, a candy bar, gift card, pillow boxes, or a small gift, just to name a few!

So for my little hugger, I used a stack of Wintergreen Ice Breakers. They're my favorite! I don't like peppermint or spearmint, but I do like wintergreen, and the colors of the little containers looked so wintery and were a perfect match for the preprinted snowman cut outs!

I adhered all of the containers together with foam tape first. I cut out a circle of Aqua Mist card stock and glued that to the top, then added the circle tag from the kit on top of that.

I cut out the base of my snowman with the New Tag Sale: Huggable dies, then cut out all of the pieces of the snowman from the preprinted sheets that come with the Holiday Hugs, Mini kit. I stamped the snowman's face, then glued on the hat. I wanted my snowman to have a scarf, so I created one with one of the hat bands. I cut it out, trimmed a bit off of one edge and then turned it upside down and glued it to his neck. I then added the holly and berries at the side.

I glued the mittens to the arms, then added some foam tape and wrapped him around my stack of Ice Breakers. I cut out a few of the snowflakes and glued them randomly around the containers.  This was such a fun project! I can't wait to use the Santa on something next!

STAMPS:  Mini Make it Market Kit: Holiday Hugs
DIES:  Mini Make it Market kit: Holiday Hugs, Tag Sale: Huggable
INK: Smokey Shadow
PAPER: Printed papers from Holiday Hugs
OTHER: Ice Breakers Wintergreen Mints

Sweet Holiday Inspirations

Hello and welcome to the second group post for the October  Papertrey Ink  Release! The new products you are seeing here will be available in the store at Papertrey Ink on October 15th at 10:00 EST!

Today I am sharing my little gingerbread house that I created with Betsy's newest addition to the Tiny Town series, Tiny Town: Gingerbread along with Tiny Town: Holiday Yard! I was so excited about this! I love little houses and gingerbread ones are my favorite! These dies have all the little details you need to turn your basic Tiny Town House into a fun and festive Holiday decoration!

Oh my goodness isn't that darling! I just love the way it turned out! I cut the basic house out of Cocoa Bean card stock and the roof out of Classic Kraft. I used a strip of Pure Poppy + White striped paper to go around the bottom of the house.

The green garland comes with the Holiday Yard dies and they fit the fence, but I thought the house needed a little bit of greenery too. I also added the wreath on the door.

The trees from the Holiday Yard dies are flat, but I cut four each of the small and the larger one and scored them down the center, then glued them all together to create a 3 dimensional tree.

I love the candy canes and the little peppermint candies! They add just the perfect touch!

Now that I have one of these under my belt, I want to make several more to add to my little Christmas village! My mind is already churning with ideas for different colors and ways to use these fun new dies!

DIES: Tiny Town: Basics, Tiny Town: Gingerbread, Tiny Town: Holiday Yard
PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean, Pure Poppy, New Leaf

Quick Crafts For The Holidays

Hello and welcome to the first group post for the October  Papertrey Ink  Release! The new products you are seeing here will be available in the store at Papertrey Ink on October 15th at 10:00 EST!

Today I'm showcasing a fun new stamp set and dies called Christmas Cuts and Christmas Cuts Sentiments by Lizzie Jones!

These were so quick and easy to make, not to mention fun! If you are in need of some tags for your gifts this year and want to mass produce them quickly, this die set is just perfect!

I just watercolored some pretty backgrounds, and cut them out with a circle die that was just slightly smaller than the tag dies. Then I cut the Christmas Cuts tags out of Stamper's Select white card stock and glued the watercolored circle behind them.

I stamped the sentiments in the new color Dark Indigo, then added Baker's Twine through the hole and tied a bow around the twine.

I love how easy it would be to customize these tags to match your wrapping paper or gift bags! I was even thinking you could cut a piece of your wrapping paper to go on the back of the tag instead of the watercolored piece. You can also use patterned paper, card stock or you can leave them plain with no backing. Lots of fun options!

Okay, so I have to be honest with you here, because someone will catch this, and notice that the snowflake tag and card are the same :) I was about to write up my blog post and I realized that I was supposed to make one tag and one card for this post.... but did I see that the first time.... noooooo.... I made three tags instead... Soooo, I took the twine and ribbon off of the snowflake tag and made it into a card :) Voila!

I blended some Spring Rain and Hawaiian Shores ink onto Fresh Snow Linen card stock and speckled with those same colors for my background. I added the tag with foam tape and cut the ribbon and bow out with the new Simple Gift Bow Dies and adhered that above the tag with foam tape. I love that bow! So fun!

STAMPS: Christmas Cuts Sentiments
DIES: Christmas Cuts Dies, Simple Gift Bow Dies
INK: Dark Indigo
PAPER: Stamper’s Select White
OTHER: Watercolor paper, Peerless watercolors, ribbon, twine

Merry Christmas

Hello! I am home from vacation now and I'm recovering :) We were gone for almost a month and I am very happy to be back home and in the craft room again. That's too long for this homebody!

Anyway, over the weekend, after doing mounds and mounds of laundry, I was able to do some stamping. I used a pretty new Christmas stamp from Pink Ink Stamp Company called Stitched Bird.

I stamped my design with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic Markers. I cut the image out with a double stitched Circle die from My Favorite Things. I used some Christmas patterned paper that I had in my stash for the background. I scalloped the edge of the snowflake paper with a stitched scalloped die from My Favorite Things.

I tied a piece of Baker's Twine around the card and added a few PPP marshmallow sequins to finish it up!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a happy week!

Kay :)
