Papertrey Ink Release In Review

Hello and welcome to my Release In Review post for the June  Papertrey Ink  Release! The new products you are seeing here will be available tonight at 10:00 PM Eastern in the store at Papertrey Ink!

So many beautiful new things this month! I love it all! So on to my last projects showcasing all the loveliness!

Betsy's newest Paper Clippings: Birthday! I love it! Had so much fun creating this card! I don't really make a lot of birthday themed cards. I just make cards, then stamp happy birthday in them as I need them, but with this new Birthday set, I think I'm going to sit down and make quite a few of these! I think it is just so amazing! I used the separate dies to cut out the happy, birthday, cake and balloons, then I added them with foam tape over the entire piece that I had cut out of white card stock.  I glued this down to a piece of watercolor paper which I had used some Aqua Mist on and watercolored a subtle background. I also added a little touch of yellow to the stars with a Copic marker.

You'd be hard pressed not to have a happy birthday after pulling this out of the envelope right? ;)

Oh my! The new Graceful Greetings II is stunning! What a pretty stamp set this is! I used the new ink color Pale Peony for my lighter flowers and Berry Sorbet for the darker. The leaves are stamped in Spring Moss. For the subtle background you see there, I just took a wet paintbrush and a little bit of Spring Moss ink and quickly added a few paint strokes. I wanted something very subtle, and that worked nicely!

This card uses the new Inspired: Grace stamps and die. I started by creating a background on watercolor paper using Distress Inks. I blended some Weathered Wood and Chipped Sapphire, then sprinkled with water and flicked a little bit of those same colors of ink. I cut this out with the stitched die from the new Double Ups: Rectangle dies. I used the flowers from the Forget Me Not set, and added those with foam tape. I glued the Grace Sentiment die across the flowers and stamped the rest of the sentiment onto a banner with Stormy Sea ink.

I kind of had a lot of fun with this one! I created my background by watercoloring with Worn Lipstick and Mustard Seed Distress Ink.  I actually did two pieces, so I would have a piece to cut the sun and clouds from too. The sun is embossed with white embossing powder and the clouds are stamped with Pure Poppy ink. I cut the Congratulations out three times and layered it before glueing down, then stamped the Sunshine underneath with Pure Poppy ink. The sun and clouds were adhered with foam tape.

  1. What a fantastic array of cards for us today, Kay! Oh my goodness! Each one is fantastic in its own way. That birthday card is fantastic. It'd be fun to have a lot made up to use as needed. Great idea. The next card is fabulous with that dry painted background. What a beautiful effect. Love your design on that card. The blue one made me gasp, it's so pretty. And that last one is bright and so fun. Great colors! Each one is unique and beautiful. Your design skills are shining brightly, my friend. Thanks for the inspiration!!! Wallets every where will plead for mercy at the release, I'm sure. :) Hugs!

  12. Hi Kay,

What a way to end this release, SCRUMPGEOUS!!!!
Ok, here's the deal, I thought long and hard for the name that I would anoint you for your clay ornaments, and this is what I came up with.....the first one (I will let you choose) no worries I checked with Disney and they gave me the go ahead-you know about this things copyright, names, infringement, all that legal mumbo jumbo! So without further adieu, I bring them to you.
The first one is Clay Ornament Tinkerbella and the other is Clay Ornament Fairy, think about the two and let me know!

    Cariños,
    María Alba
