MFT June Release Replay

Hello! Today I'm joining the rest of the My Favorite Things Design team for the Release In Review Challenge! We are taking a fresh look at the June release with inspiring ideas and innovative takes on the complete collection. We love the opportunity to look at the new products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present. And I am here today to help share some of these ideas with you!

I didn't get the opportunity to use the Trees in the Forest Die-namics during release week, so those were the first I grabbed for this challenge. I really love them! I took a sheet of watercolor paper and blended several different shades of blue and green distress inks on it. I splattered with water and those same colors of inks. I let this dry well, and cut the tops of the trees out of that. I cut the trunks out of smooth white card stock and blended a bit of Latte ink along the bottoms. I glued all of the trunks to the trees.

For the background, I blended some Summer Splash ink onto smooth white card stock, and the ground is Cool Cucumber card stock and I used the Surf & Turf Die-namics to cut it out. I stamped the sentiment in Gumball green along the bottom. I then glued all of the trees down with liquid adhesive.

Make sure you hop on over to the  My Favorite Things Blog to see what all the other fabulous designers did with this challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Kay :)

  4. Beautiful, Kay. Your copse of trees is lovely. Look at the detail you got on them with the blending and the splatters. You have the perfect touch for splatters, I think. Your blended sky is such a pretty blue and the grassy area is a great green. A wonderfully clean and "simple" card that would make any recipient smile. :) Hugs!!
