Maya Road Color Your World Watercolor Kit

Hi there! I hope you all had a lovely weekend! It was sure warm and sunny here. The temperature can stop right here though and not get any hotter and I'd be a happy girl!

I was so excited when Maya Road asked me to be a guest designer for their new Watercolor kit: Color Your World. I have always admired their beautiful products, and the amazing things the design team does with them, but was a little intimidated to try my hand at that unique style. It's a little more layered and bulky than my usual style, but  I gave it my best shot, and I have to say, I LOVED working with these fun things! I was very happy with my cards, and my daughter said they were her all time favorites. That means a lot coming from an almost 14 year old :)

Everything you see on my cards is all included in the Maya Road Color Your World Watercolor kit.

The kit comes with three colors of Colorburst. I had never tried these and was excited to see what they were like. Oh my goodness! They are so fun! I am going to have to order more! You can see in this card how I created my background with them. I used the red and blue, and used them more like traditional watercolors than actually wetting the paper and letting them do the burst things, like I've seen done.

Aren't those three dimensional elements gorgeous! I just loved that fabric flower and the little wooden butterflies! I glued everything onto my card with my hot glue gun.

For the background on this card, I used the red and blue Colorburst again, but used just a little and a lot of water to get a soft pastel background.

Again, I used my hot glue gun to adhere all of the elements to my card. The leaves you see are die cut with one of the dies that comes in the kit. I really love that leaf!

I'll be sharing some more of my Maya Road Watercolor kit cards in the next few days!

If you want to check out this beautiful kit you can see it HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Kay :)

  1. Wow, Kay! These are amazing. How fun to see you step out of your normal comfort zone and do so so spectacularly. Those colorburst things look like something right up your alley. I can see you getting a whole bunch of colors and going to town playing. I adore the backgrounds you created with them. The doo-dads you added look fabulous. I like how these cards are different, but I still get a definite Kay vibe from them. Awesome job! Hugs!! :)

  6. For these cards being out of your comfort zone, you still nailed them. The are just awesome. I bought some color burst this summer and still haven't tried them. They are intimidating to me. I agree with you daughter, these are very pretty
