Color Pop Butterflies

Hello and welcome to the second group post for the March Papertrey Ink Countdown! Today we are showcasing the beautiful new Color Pop Butterflies Make it Market kit by Betsy Veldman!

All of the products you are seeing today will be available at the Papertrey Ink online store at 10:00pm EST on March 15th.

I just loved the Color Pop Florals kit that Betsy did in February, so I was so excited when I saw she had done a similar kit with butterflies! There are stencils included along with stamps dies and printed papers! A feast for the eyes!

I just love those bright colors along with the black background!

So for my card here, I used the printed papers in black, cut out some of the printed butterflies with the matching dies, and adhered them with foam tape. I cut a wide strip of Hawaiian Shores card stock, and glued that along the bottom of the card. I added a small strip of Smokey Shadow card stock and Stormy Sea striped patterned paper.

I cut the So Happy die out three times, layered those and glued it to the card stock. I stamped the tiny "for you",  cut it out with the little flag die, and adhered that to the bottom.

The tags were very quick and easy! I used the Tag Sale #4 die and cut them right out of the printed sheets, then I cut out the butterflies and adhered those with foam tape. I stamped the "for you" on the grey tag and embossed it with white embossing powder on the black tag.

And now for a softer side, and a totally different look, I created a Mother's day card with the new Shaped Sayings: Mother's Day die. I created the background by stenciling the tiny flowers with Lovely Lady and Amethyst Allure inks. Next I cut out the round piece with the Scene It: Basic Backer, and sponged Amethyst Allure and Lovely Lady inks on to it. I mounted that with foam tape, and layered three of the Happy Mother's Day die cuts.

The butterflies were stenciled first,  I cut them out with the dies, then stamped the details with a little help from my MISTI.

This is really a beautiful kit, and I plan on making time to go back and make many more cards with it.

  9. As I'm debating this kit, (Money and space can be limiting!) your use of the paper has given me another point to ponder. The way you worked with portions of the pattern is wonderful, allowing the projects to be bold but not overwhelming. I so enjoy your creativity.

  10. Great point Nancy, about cost and space...but from what I have seen so far, this set is versatile. Even when the coordinating papers are used...you could use the stencils with versamark ink and emboss white butterflies on black paper, then add pops of color with the stamped and die cut coordinating set. Beautiful cards! Kay.
