Hello and welcome to the third group post for the March Papertrey Ink Countdown! Today we are showcasing some super cute new stitching dies from Erin Lincoln! This is just my second project using Erin's stitched dies and I'm already hooked!
All of the products you are seeing today will be available at the Papertrey Ink online store at 10:00pm EST on March 15th.
My project today uses the new Stitched Tray: Square Dies and Folk Flower Dies. I have to tell you, I bought one of each of the Papertrey Ink packages of felt, because I just couldn't resist. It's so beautiful! But I was so scared to actually cut it! haha! I was so afraid I would cut it out wrong or mess something up, but I took the plunge and went ahead and cut these out, and it was a piece of cake! They stitched up so easily, and I didn't mess up a thing!
I am so happy with the way this turned out! I have big plans for that Folk Flower die too! I want to stitch it on the Stitched Heart die and make an ornament with it. I'm always trying to turn everything into an ornament :)
After you have stitched the whole tray together with the buttons stitched to the outside layer, then you just wrap some floss around the buttons and knot it to pull it into the tray shape.
And again I must say that I just love that Folk Flower motif! I can't wait to sew it in some different colors, and I can see me using those leaves by themselves to create some fun patterns! Now that I've overcome my fear of actually cutting into my felt, we'll see what I can come up with!
DIES: Stitched Tray: Square, Stitched Folk Flower
FELT: Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides, Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Spring Moss, Lemon Tart, Simply Chartreuse
Thank you so much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with my Release In Review post showcasing the rest of my projects using the Papertrey Ink March Release!
Be sure and check out what all the other amazing design team members have done with these new products!
Kay :)
What a sweet little project! And it looks so much like a "Kay" project! Oooooh I can just bet how much fun you are going to be having with these goodies and I cannot wait to see what you come up with. On this one...you picked some lovely colors to help your motif shine. And you've coordinated very well the DMC floss to stitch those colors! Beautiful work! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny , not wanting to cut into the felt! Love your little tray and the inside is so pretty ! I can see this as an ornament! What a fun project! I have tons of felt and have been using lots of it.
ReplyDeleteThis is so charming. I immediately thought that this was something my 91 yo mother in law would actually appreciate and USE.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of ornaments, do you ever do tutorials on your clay ones? I just love those...
Lovely flower motif!
ReplyDeleteYour folk flower is gorgeous! The whole trinket tray is too pretty to fill! Lovely colors, Kay!
ReplyDeleteYou do everything with such love, care and precision. Such a clean, pretty little tray.
ReplyDeleteKay, I just had to hop over from IG and get a closer look at this sweet tray. I completely agree with you about cutting into the felt. That's how I felt when I was creating Peter Cottontails jacket (I had to free hand that one). I adore all the new stitching dies. I love the idea of making them into ornaments as well or tags for packages - the only limitation if our imaginations. Beautiful work as always.
ReplyDeleteThe folk flower is lovely, and I can't wait to see how your ornament tuns out!
ReplyDeleteLovely tray...

ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous! Those felt colors are just beautiful as well!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done, Kay. I, too, would be afraid to cut into that gorgeous felt, but I don't have your talent.
ReplyDeleteHi Kay,
ReplyDeleteI can't beleive that the master of ornaments that cuts and molds clay as if it was butter would be afraid of cutting felt....you must be pulling my leg! Anyhow the basket is GORGEOUS and the work is PERFECT!

María Alba

ReplyDeleteOh, I love this to bits!! The colors are just delightful Kay. Can't wait to see the ornament!!
ReplyDeleteAdorable project! I would find it hard to cover that gorgeous flower motif and would probably leave the tray empty--mini wall hanging!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute basket and the button details are the perfect finishing touch.
