Hello, and welcome to the Essentials by Ellen Holiday 2015 Release Hop! I’ll be showcasing several of the new stamp sets and dies on my post today! If you are following along with the hop, you should have come from the talented Maureen Merritt's Blog!
There is also a Grand Giveaway in the CLASSroom! To enter, be sure to leave a comment there, and at every stop along the hop by August 11th, 2015; winners will be announced by the weekend!
So would you love to see what I did with some of these gorgeous new stamps and dies? I made several, so get yourself something to eat or drink and get comfortable ;)
My first card uses the adorable Got Candy stamp set and Got Candy dies! I blended the ink circle with Distress Inks and a mini blending tool, and cut this white panel out with a stitched rectangle die. I stamped and white embossed the sentiment and cut it out with a banner die. All of the stamped images are Colored with Copic Markers and adhered with foam tape. I glued a piece of black striped paper along the side of my card and a small strip of purple card stock before adhering my white panel down to the black card base.
I added a few little details with my white gel pen and a few clear Pretty Pink Posh Sequins!
***
My next card features the same cute stamp set, Got Candy and Got Candy Dies.
Oh I just love those cute little halloween characters!! That spider is adorable! And I don't really like spiders at all! :) I blended the background by taping off by using painters tape along a white card stock panel and blending some Chipped Sapphire, Mermaid Lagoon, and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks. I glued a thin piece of black striped patterned paper along the side of it and stamped the sentiment along the other side. All of the fun images were colored with Copic Markers, cut out with the matching dies, and adhered with foam tape. I cut out a few yellow stars and randomly glued them around in the night sky!
***
My next card features a gorgeous Christmas stamp set called Mistletoe & Holly and Mistletoe & Holly dies! Oh it is so pretty and was so fun to stamp and color!
I used my MISTI tool to stamp all of the pieces here, because I wanted to blend the inks on them. I used some lighter and darker greens for the holly and greenery and two shade of reds and browns for the poinsettia and pinecones. I added color and detail to the pieces after I stamped them with my Copic Markers. For the background, I very softly watercolored some green, blue and a touch of brown Peerless watercolor around the edges to frame the cluster. The sentiment was stamped with Black Tuxedo Memento ink.
All of the different stamped pieces were adhered with foam tape for dimension, and I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins, and a bit of Wink of Stella. ( that you obviously can't see in the photos) :)
***
I told you this was a long post! Everything was just so beautiful, I couldn't stop creating!! I have this problem from time to time! ;)Next card uses the same beautiful set Mistletoe & Holly and Mistletoe & Holly Dies!
For this card, I sponged some blue ink in the center of my white card panel for a background. I again stamped my images with the MISTI using several colors of ink to give the nice shading. On these, I added a little bit of detail with my white gel pen along with my Copic markers. The sentiment was stamped on a cross-stitched oval and adhered with foam tape, then the other elements were clustered around the bottom edge with foam tape as well. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins for the finale!
OH doesn't that make you wish for Christmas?? It's my favorite time of year, and my favorite kind of cards to make! Love them!
