Creative Constructions with MFT Blueprints

Hello friends!
I am participating in the Creative Construction with Blueprints Design team challenge on the MFT blog today!
Gently rounded corners are a dynamic way of adding interest and softness to your cards. Creative Construction this month shines a spotlight on those Blueprints sets that feature rounded corner elements. From a single, unexpected corner to a full four-corners; rectangles, and squares; plain and stitched - these sets run the gamut of styles. Featured Blueprints include 10, 14, & 22.
Stop by the MFT blog to see what all the other designers have done with this challenge!

For my card, I used Blueprints 14.

I first blended some ink onto some white card stock for my background. I used a mini round blending tool and Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon Distress inks. I then splattered a little Chipped Sapphire onto it and some white paint as well. I used the rounded square die from Blueprints 14 to cut this out. I cut a thin strip of the purple striped paper from the Dots & Stripes Fresh 6x6 Paper pack and glued that along the left edge of my card. I then stamped the sentiment onto my inked piece and adhered this with foam tape right up to the edge of the paper and even with the top of the card.

I colored all of my stamped images with Copic Markers and cut them out with the matching Die-namics. I adhered all of these with foam tape to the lower edge of my blended panel, tucking the leaves and the tree behind the flowers. I added a few white dots with my gel pen, and some clear Pretty Pink Posh sequins. You can find all the products I used on this card linked below in the supplies list!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure and check out the MFT blog to see more inspiration using Blueprints with rounded corners!

Hugs,

Kay :)

  3. Looks fantastic, Kay! I really like the card design and how you did your inking/blending on the rounded corner piece. The flower and tree cluster looks fabulous colored the way they are. Your white gel pen works great! I've been trying to use mine and I think it might be old and tired from lack of use. :( You've done an excellent job on this card. Your designs always make me smile. :) Hugs!!
