Hello Friends!
This week is Inspired By week on the MFT Stamps blog. And not only on the blog, but also on Facebook and Instagram! All week we have been talking about people, artists, artworks, and quotes that inspire us. As always, there will be lots of fantastic prizes, so do not miss out! Today we are being inspired by famous works of art!
Several members of the MFT design team have created cards or projects inspired by famous paintings so be sure to check out the MFT blog to see what the other designers have done too!
I have a card to share that was inspired by the famous Sunflowers painting by Vincent Van Gogh.
For my sunflowers I used the Upsy Daisy Die-namics and cut the petals out of Lemon Drop and Lemon Chiffon card stock. I cut the leaves from the Upsy Daisy Die-namics also using Sour Apple card stock. I assembled the flowers and added details to them and the leaves with my Copic markers and white gel pen. I used the Spring Garden Die-namics and Fresh Cut Flowers Die-namics to cut out the little purple flowers, and again added some detail with my Copics and gel pen.
Next I cut a rectangle using the Cross Stitch Rectangle STAX Die-namics and stamped a sentiment from the Fall Foliage stamp set. I sponged some Sour Apple die ink up in the left corner and then mixed some of the same ink with water and using my paintbrush splattered a little around. I mounted the cross stitch panel to a Smooth white card stock top folded card with foam tape and added the flowers and leaves with foam tape as well.
I hope you will join in the fun on the MFT blog and be inspired by your favorite work of art!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs,
Kay :)

ReplyDeleteMy dear friend, yet again, I've fallen behind in commenting. The plus to that, though, is opportunity to devote time to your gallery exclusively, which I'm doing before heading for some niece/nephew time before we begin the drive back to Canmore. Van Gogh would be incredibly impressed with your work of art emulating his style, Kay! The sunflowers are stunning and I'm in awe at all the 'little' details you pay attention to that breathe life into your creations. You and MFT products: made for one another!
