Festive Friday #37

Hello my friends!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week!

It's time again for another challenge at Festive Friday!

Here is the cute inspiration photo for this time around. I love this photo!

I have seen so many cute things with an old pick up truck with a Christmas tree in the back of it around, so I knew immediately that was the direction I wanted to take. I dug through my stash... nothing... I  searched the digital files at the Silhouette store... nothing, I scoured the internet... nothing... then, I had a thought! I remembered a Cottage Cuts die that I bought a long time ago that was a truck, with something Christmasy about it! So I went searching and I found it! Oh it was perfect! These dies are pretty complex and take some time to put together, because there are so many tiny pieces, but they are really quite fun, especially if you are someone who loves detail work, which I am :)

Anyway, here is what I did with my Christmasy truck die!

I just love how this turned out! My husband even made a big deal about how cute it was and you know how husbands are! Anyway, it was just so fun to put together. I started with the blue panel, glued down the line of green trees, then added the white snowdrift. I then added the clouds with foam tape and the truck with foam tape too,

Dies:
Trees- My Favorite Things
Snowdrift- My Favorite Things
Clouds- Taylored Expressions and PTI
Santa in Truck- Cottage cuts
Sentiment- Papertrey Ink

I have had lot of people ask me what kind of textured paper that is that I'm using. I am so sorry to tell you all that it's old Stampin' Up paper from way back when I was a demo. They used to carry some awesome textured card stock, but they don't have it anymore. When I was a demo I stocked up majorly and I think I'm good for life now! haha!

I also have quite a large stash of American Crafts textured card stock which is beautiful and cuts like a dream in the Cameo.

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday!

You can also check out the amazing talent from the other design team members at Festive Friday!

Thank so much for stopping by!

I hope you all have a safe and happy weekend!

Hugs,

Kay :)

  12. You need some kind of award as Die Cut Queen for this supremely cute Christmas card, Kay!! 15. Nothing like finding a 'buried treasure' - and your little scene here is incredibly darling! The truck, driven by that oh-too-cute waving Santa and carrying the starred tree makes me feel Christmas joy (even thought it's an unusual 80plus degrees here). I'm with Darnell: you are the Queen of Die Cuts, my friend! Thank you, too, for sharing your card stock info. I may have to give AC a closer look (if I can ever find a 'real' scrapbook store somewhere in this province. I may have to wait until I head to Edmonton, because a couple are there. Family time and craft-shopping = recipe for fabulous!
