You Are Special

Hello dear friends!

It's been a while since I've posted anything. I have been thoroughly enjoying the warm temperatures, spring flowers and not being on the computer quite so much. It's been lovely!

I have been making some cards though. I sneak away to my craft room every little chance I can and play. Actually I've been piddling a lot lately. I posted about piddling a while back, if you didn't read it, then what piddling means to me is, to just play with my stamps and card stuff with no particular goal in mind. No challenge to go by, no person I'm making it for, no reason, and no aim, just to get my stuff out, start coloring, cutting and gluing and see where it takes me. Sometimes I forget all about this, and get kind of serious about things I'm doing, and I lose my joy. When things start getting bogged down and I'm thinking , "this isn't as much fun as it used to be" that's when it hits me.... I forgot about piddling!!! Oh heaven's don't ever forget to piddle!!!

So I've been piddling again and it's soooooooo wonderful!

Here's where my piddling led me yesterday!

I LOVE patterned paper!! I also love clean cards with white space. It's sometimes hard to combine the two you know? So I'm always looking and thinking of different layout ideas that will allow me to use a bit of patterned paper, and still have a clean looking card. I came up with this design which I loved so much I made two more just like it in different colors!

All of the flowers and leaves are from Papertrey Ink, the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted, and the arched dies are from Sizzix.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you are having a good week so far! I'll be back on Friday for a new Festive Friday post! Meanwhile, I am going to keep piddling away here!

Hugs,

Kay :)

  9. Piddling perfection, Kay - and so glad you shared this beauty with us! I 'hear' what you're saying about things we love sometimes becoming a chore - and yes, stepping back for a bit, doing something else, usually results in a refreshed, rejuvenated outlook. Indeed, sometimes my best (well, 'best' being a widely defined term *grin*) ideas are sparked while 'piddling' around doing, or with, other things. Your flowers are soooo gorgeous in their pretty patterned paper arch (what kind of inks do you use? ) and the sentiment is precisely as it reads: special! clean, simple and elegant! Love this, Kay! And THANK YOU x a zillion for the warm comments you leave on my blog! You are a gem!! Hugs~c

  15. Love your piddling! I agree, too many things on the to do list take away the fun of stamping and card making. This card is so you and it is stunning! I see your ornaments in this card as well. I must have missed this PTI set but sure do notice it now that you have used it!

  17. I am so tickled to learn a new meaning for the word piddling, Kay! When I piddle, or when the dogs used to piddle, it involves swearing and paper towels. (And sometimes making cards involves swearing and paper towels!) But your piddling definition belongs as a number line beside the other definitions for the word JOY!! How totally fun! I do that kind of piddling around, too, from time to time and, in fact, in the ten years I made cards before computers and challenges, piddling was the ONLY way I made cards!

You, my dear, are an expert piddler, there is no question about it! (Can you tell I just love using the word piddle in any form possible as often as possible, tee hee!) I love the CLEAN design, gorgeous papers and colors, and your impeccable execution! Even though you didn't make this for a challenge, it's a winner in my eyes! Hugs, Darnell
