Well my friends, this week has just rushed by me so far. I think it was having Monday off for Memorial day that made me not even realize that today was already Wednesday!
And Wednesday means another fabulous challenge at The Card Concept!
This weeks challenge is to create a card using the colors Yellow, black, white and grey.
Now I'll be honest with you, these are most definitely not my go to colors. Matter of fact, I don't even like any of them very much, unless they are in small doses mixed with other pretty colors ( pink). But you know what? I really like the way my card turned out and I'm thinking I might have to give these colors another chance :)
Here's what I came up with:
In my last post, I showed a little peek of some new PTI goodies that had just come in the mail. Well, this flower is using the new Button Stacks from PTI. They have three of them now, and let me tell you, I LOVE THEM!! I spent all day long just cutting hundreds of them out in all different colors. Then I spent the next day arranging them and making neat little flowers and designs out of them. SO fun! I hope they come out with more!
So anyway, everything on the flower is from Papertrey Ink, the leaves are from Memory Box, the cute little tag is from Papersmooches, the stitched dies are from Lil Inkers and the sentiment is from Papersmooches too.
Here's a peek of my little plastic storage containers full of Button Stacks! I just love looking at them! haha!
I have an obsession with little storage containers. I got these at Walmart. They look just like the ones that you put ketchup in at some fast food places. Perfect for my little cut outs! ;)
Thanks so much for stopping by! Stop by and see what the other designers have created and I hope you'll join us for the challenge at The Card Concept!
Hugs,
Kay :)
Your card is gorgeous, as always, Kay. You really rocked these colors even if they aren't your favorite. And I just adore all those button cut outs -- too much fun.
ReplyDeleteI really LOVE how your card turned out, Kay! I think pale yellow was a great choice and just a touch of gray on the leaves is perfect! Love how you played with the 'Button Stacks', too...and of course your stitched mats make this card so charming!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to store all those pretty buttons...now, you're all set when you need them :-)
Gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Love your containers too...I would sit and look at them as well. You did an amazing job with the colours this week. I love your beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteKay I love the containers and now…. I want to get them as well. What a fun idea! I know what you mean about just looking at them.
ReplyDeleteLove your card !
Amazing! Your skills are fabulous, Kay. You absolutely wowed me with this card. Love how you used the colors. That yellow is scrumptious and worked wonderfully with the gray. The black just makes it pop. You know how I admire your design skills and you used them extremely well on this gorgeous card. Omg, I have to do to the big W today...guess what I will be looking for? Those little cups are awesome! Maybe if I punch a bunch of goodies and look at them and hope and wish hard...maybe some of your talent will carry across the miles to me?? *Ü* Hugs!
ReplyDeleteAdorable using the color combo and I love all the element on your card...I mean the layer...much layer but looks still CAS...I can not do that if I put much layer it looks so messy and too bulkie...you did it very great, ADORABLE CARD...and the thin with colorfull buttons oooh its to die for to look...if you have a little girl she will think it is a bon bon and ask Mom may I eat some of them? Hope you dont have a little child..LOL
ReplyDeleteYou are a bad, bad influence, Kay!! LOL :-) I just went and ordered all 3 button stack sets because of your fabulous card! Great design and you did wonderful with the colors.
ReplyDeleteGoodness Kay, but this little gem is jaw-dropping awesome! The layers, the elements, the colours - it's visual harmony at it's finest! I have 'reasonable facsimiles' of several of the products you have, so I hope you don't mind if I case it; too sweet and pretty not too!! Love this x oodles! Your little containers: brilliant! My tidbits are a mess, and I end up tossing them rather than giving them a rummage through. These are excellent little organizers...Happy sighhhh...a visit at your site always fills me with joy!! Hugs~c
ReplyDeleteI love your card Kay! I love the flowers with the button stacks and the polka dotted paper is such a yummy touch, wonderful sentiment too along with the note spiral detail at the top. I had to chuckle when I saw your button stacks all organized...I die cut a whole bunch of these too just this morning!
ReplyDeleteI don't have the little containers like you placed them in, but I did place mine by colour, like you, in clear teeny zip lock bags. A tiny part of my organizing ;)
What a beautiful card! Did you ever make those colours "work" for you!! The layers are just gorgeous, and your precision is incredible, as always!! Love, love how you organized your dies too - they look SO pretty! Mine would just be in a big pile, disorganized on the floor...I need to work on my tidiness!! ha ha!
ReplyDeleteLove the card Kay. I don't own any of the button stacks but I think I may have to purchase them after seeing your project...
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous :) love the multi layered flower ! Guess what I also bought something similar for my storage, but I got it from The container store , where I visited on my trip to Chicago :)
ReplyDeleteFor not liking the color combo so much you sure came up with a stunning card!
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous card. Love the flowers. What a great idea with your storage too!
ReplyDeleteYou've used these colors to make one fantastic card! I love those lil inker dies and especially the layered flower! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery late here, sorry!!! I am so not good in leaving love lately!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning,Kay!! I love how your card turned out,esp the pretty flower!! And i like how you storage them!!!
I'm a big fan of PINK too, in fact, it's my favorite color. But since I have used this color combo several times now...I now really like these colors together too, and you really rocked this color challenge with this great card!
