Seize The Birthday #13

It is time for another challenge at Seize The Birthday! This week we are using that same fabulous sketch from last week, but doing a card for the guys.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card :

I really struggle with the guy cards. I don't even own any masculine stamps. I actually don't make cards to send or give. I make cards because I so thoroughly enjoy it, and I think all cards need flowers. It's just a given you know? So making a card without flowers is just plain wrong! haha! I do send and give my cards, it's just that the guys in my life usually get flowery cards too!

So anyway, I asked dh if this card was masculine and he was all like "Yeah! I like owls!" So here you go, my masculine card :)

That cute little owl is from Hampton Art. The green thing he's sitting on is a Stampin' Up! Hostess set in the current catalog and the little sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. Paper are all from K & Co.

This week we are proud to sponsor Paper Sweeties! They are donating a $10 gift certificate to the winner!

Paper Sweeties™ LLC is owned and illustrated by Debbie Marcinkiewicz, and offers hand drawn, high quality photopolymer acrylic stamps.  Our heartwarming images allow paper crafters to create adorable dolls with interchangeable outfits and accessories! We also have a wide variety of wonderful all-occasion sentiments, labels and accessory sets - perfect for every paper crafted project!  The Paper Sweeties Shoppe carries hand tea-stained seam binding too!  The Sweeties dolls, accessories and sentiments are so much fun to play with and are sure to bring back fond childhood memories!  You’ll enjoy using the Sweeties to create projects for card making, scrap booking, party invitations and favors, home decor, gifts and so much more!

Won't you join us at Seize The Birthday and add to your birthday card stash!

Check out what the other amazing team members have created!

Hope you have a great rest of the week!

Hugs,

Kay :)

  1. Great card for someone who professes to not struggle with them. I hear you on that score. But you did get the seal of approval from your hubby! That owl is wonderful. All the colors work well together and I really like the stamp you used on the background for the owl. Way to go stepping up and creating a super card outside of your comfort zone!

  2. The guys in my life are probably just gonna have to be happy with guy colors...that's about all I can offer;) I just don't have a lot of images that are masculine, but I do think the owl works...especially in that chocolaty brown! GREAT card Kay...so perfectly layed out, as usual!!!
