Fathers, Food Fun and More

Hello and welcome to the first group post for the April Papertrey Ink Release! The new products you are seeing here will be available in the store at Papertrey Ink on April 15th at 10:00 EST.

Today's post is all about the men in your life! I really struggle with making masculine cards and projects, because I usually don't like "guy" stuff. But these new products from Papertrey ink are SO fun! And they could be used for a girl as well. I can totally see me giving that hamburger card to my daughter! She would love it!

We have King of The Grill stamp set and dies from Lizzie. Seriously, this is ingenious! I absolutely love the layered hamburger! I'm also showcasing the Favor It: Fry Box, which is so cute for a treat box, and I can see it decorated so many fun ways for holidays and birthdays! So I'll have a Coke and super size that please! :)

These turned out so cute, I had to run out and buy a six pack of bottled Coke to go with them. The kids have been begging me to let them drink them. They have high fructose corn syrup in them though, so I may have to keep them for decorative purposes only :)

Here's the Fry Box up close. It was so easy to put together! I cut the two pieces from Fine Linen card stock and another one from the Green Parakeet Polka dot paper. I glued the polka dot paper to the front side of the back piece, so it would have a cute liner. The tag I made with Limitless Layers: 2 1/4 Oval dies. I cut the oval out of Pure Poppy striped paper and layered the Treat Box Tag Lines on top. Those are Honey Wheat pretzels in there. They are so good!

STAMPS: Treat Box Tag Lines, Keep It Simple: Just For You
DIES: Favor It: Fry Box, Treat Box Tag Lines, Limitless Layers: 2 1/4 Oval Die Collection
INKS: Dark Chocolate, Green Parakeet, Pure Poppy
PAPER: Fine Linen, Stamper’s Select white, Green Parakeet + White, Pure Poppy + White

And here's the card! Did I tell you how much I love that hamburger? I used my MISTI to line everything up and it was easy peasy! I framed it with Erin's new Cover Plate: Marquee die. I pulled colors from the hamburger, Green Parakeet, Amethyst Allure and Fine Linen.

My next projects are a cute little coordinating gift set I created with Erin's super cute Paper Puff Topper die and Betsy's What The Doodle: Apple stamp set and dies.

I used the Sentiment Splits: Vertical Angle to create the bottom part of my card. I used watercolor paper and distress inks blending it out to get the ombre effect. I layered a little strip of Pure Poppy striped paper along the top edge and tied a piece of Baker's Twine around it. The apple and flowers were colored with Copic markers and adhered with foam tape.

DIES: What The Doodle: Apple, Sentiment Splits: Angle Vertical

I also made a little tag with the new Keep it Simple: Just for you stamps and Tag Sale #10 die. I blended a little bit of Distress Ink along the side so it would tie in with the card, and also used the Pure Poppy and Green Parakeet papers. Those are dried apple crisps in the bag :)

And now for the Paper Puff Topper! Isn't that adorable! I just love it! I cut it out of Pure Poppy polka dot paper, then I added a little felt flower on top cut from the Beautiful Blooms die. I colored the apple with Copics, cut it out and glued it to a tooth pick. I stuck this in the top, and added a little Baker's Twine bow. I also thought it need a little icing border along the edge, so I cut one out using the Frosted Border dies, and I used hot glue to glue it around the whole cup cake. I glued all of this to the snack cup with foam tape. I didn't get the Snack Cup Holder dies in time for my post, so I cut some circles out with the Cover Plate: Circles die and glued those around the bottom of my cup with glue dots. Some Caramel Apple dipping sauce is going in this!

I hope you can tell by my post that I had a lot of fun with the new products, because I did!

These and more will be available for sale at  Papertrey Ink  on April 15th, at 10:00 EST!
