Festive Friday #43 Reminder

Happy Halloween! Doesn't seem right to be showing a Christmas card on Halloween. Oh well, if you're like me, your Halloween cards were made months ago and you've been working on Christmas cards for weeks now :)

Just a little reminder that there is still time to join in the challenge at Festive Friday!

Here is the inspiration photo for this time.

And here is my second card with this fun inspiration photo!

This time, I didn't go with the presents theme. I went with the color scheme of red, white and grey and patterns to created a fun festive card!
I stamped the border and cut it out with a stitched die and attached that to my white panel. I then die cut the large snowflake and adhered it with foam tape. I stamped the red design and snowflake, cut them out and adhered them with foam tape also. Last I stamped the sentiment and adhered the whole white panel to an A5 card base. Fun! Fun!

  • Supplies:
  • Stamps: Winter Wishes and Fairisle Background -WPlus9, Sentiment-Snowflurries- Papertrey Ink

Festive Friday #43, Paper Smooches Design Team !!! and Pictures!

Hello my friends! I have been on the road traveling for a whole week now. We have been all over North Carolina, Tennessee, and now Virginia. We're headed to Gettysburg tomorrow to take in a bit of American History. My 14 year old son is so excited! Here are a few of my favorite photos so far.

Me with my two sweet kiddos!

I fuss at the kids for doing things like this! ha!

Beautiful scenery off the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina

So some super exciting news!!!!!!

Not sure if you saw it on my Facebook page or on the Paper Smooches blog, but I have joined the amazingly talented design team at Paper Smooches! To say I am excited is an enormous understatement! I almost fell out of my chair when I got Kim's email inviting me. I guested for Paper Smooches exactly a year ago this month and never would have guessed I would be on the team a year later. Soooooo excited about this!! Thank you to all of you who commented on my fb post and who have sent personal congratulations! :)

Well it is Friday already, and  time again for another challenge at Festive Friday! If you've been playing along with us all year, you should have a pretty good stash or Christmas cards by now!

Here is the inspiration photo for this time. OH aren't presents great! I love presents! And when  saw this photo, I knew exactly what I wanted to use for my card!

And here is what I came up with!

I used my new presents die from Simon Says! How perfect was that? I love this die and I had so much fun picking out all the different little papers to go in each shape! Now there are all kinds of ways you can use this die, and I had to think about it for a while before I decided which way to approach it. What I did was, I die cut the presents out of the white and then laid that down on the red card stock and traced in all the little shapes with a pencil. Then I cut small pieces of patterned paper and glued them down over my traced lines. When I was all done, I glued the white die cut panel down to the red mat over all the patterned paper pieces. Lastly I cut the jolly die out three times and glued them together, then glued it onto the white mat. A little time consuming, but a really fun card to put together :)
  • Supplies:
  • Dies: Stitched rectangle- Lawn Fawn, Presents- Simon Says Stamps, Jolly- Penny Black
I'm also adding this card to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge, Show Us What You've Got.

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday!

Festive Friday #42 Reminder

Hello my friends!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week!
We left this morning for our two week vacation to the North East. I thought I had my Festive Friday post all scheduled, but for some reason it did not show up this morning.... so sorry I'm a bit late with this.

So better late than never, here's a  little reminder that there is still time to join in the challenge at Festive Friday!

Here is the inspiration photo for this time.

And here is my second card with this gorgeous inspiration photo!

And since I'm sitting in a motel room doing this and the kids are waiting on me to finish so I can eat some pizza with them, I'd better make this part quick :)
Everything is from Papertrey Ink except the little bow and the mistletoe, they are from WPlus9. The stitched rectangle mat and circle are from Lawn Fawn.

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday!

You can also check out the amazing talent from the other design team members at Festive Friday!

Card Concept #21

Hello my friends!

It's time for another fabulous challenge at The Card Concept!

This weeks challenge is to create a card inspired by this lovely bouquet of sunflowers with a touch of country thrown in.

I had never used my cute Lawn Fawn sunflowers, so I was kind of excited to get them out to play!

I first covered the card base with the cute grey striped paper then mounted a slightly smaller white stitched base with foam tape. Next I cut out the yellow strip to go across, glued it down and added the gingham one on top of that. The flowers are colored with Copic markers and adhered with foam tape. Lastly I stamped the sentiment.

  • Supplies:
  • Stamps: Our Friendship Grows-Lawn Fawn, More Washi Patterns- My Favorite Things
  • Dies: Stitched Rectangles- Lawn Fawn, Stitched borders- My Favorite Things, Our Friendship Grows- Lawn Fawn

Lawnscaping Challenge #91

Hi there!

Just popping in here late to share a cute little Halloween card I made for the Lawnscaping Challenge this week. I am in superwoman mode this week trying to get everything ready and wrapped up so we can leave this Friday on vacation. We take our vacation in the fall every year, and this year we are heading North East in hopes of seeing some beautiful fall colors!

This weeks challenge is to use patterned paper, so I just couldn't pass that up, as I have just a little bit sitting around ;) I used the super cute Halloween set from Lawn Fawn, Spooktacular. I colored them in with Copic markers and cut them out with the matching dies, then Layered everything on the stitched mats.

  • Supplies:
  • Stamps: Spooktacular- Lawn Fawn, Sweater Weather- Lawn Fawn
  • Dies: Stitched Rectangles Lawn Fawn

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

It's time to share the next Cutting Edge Challenge!  We have another inspiration project, this one done by Amy! Isn't it fabulous?!

Now I am seriously in Christmas mode right now, but I did switch over to do a card very similar to Amy's because it was just so darn cute!!

I first die cut my card with the stitched die, then cut out a smaller stitched panel in white. I die cut the clouds out, and then layered the white panel over a piece of striped patterned paper. The airplane is colored with Copics, and it, and the sunshine, are mounted with foam tape.

Festive Friday #42

Hello my friends!

Another week has flown by again, it is Friday already and  time again for another challenge at Festive Friday!

Here is the inspiration photo for this time. Isn't that pretty! There are so many ways you could interpret this one. I knew I had to do something with a red bow though :)

And here is what I came up with!

I hadn't had a chance to use hardly any of my new Lawn Fawn stamps, so I got them out and seasoned them, along with that cute ribbon from Papertrey Ink!

  • Supplies:
  • Stamps: Deck The Halls-Lawn Fawn, No Strings Attached- Papertrey Ink
  • Dies: Stitched rectangle- Lawn Fawn.

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday!

Happy World Cardmaking Day, Virginia's View #8, Mama Elephant and Sneak Peek!

Happy World card making day everyone! And what a great one it is! It's chilly here, the trees are turning colors and I'm going to spend the whole day in my craft room celebrating and creating! I just don't think it gets much better than that ;)

I have a sweet little card I made for the challenge at Virginia's View. The challenge this time is clean and simple, which I dearly love, although my cards rarely fall into the simple category.

When I first saw this cute set from Mama Elephant, for some reason, I immediately thought of Peace on Earth with the lion and the lamb. Perhaps it's because I love Christmas so much :) I couldn't wait to put this together though.  I first cut out the stitched white panel and stamped the little sprig of greenery along the bottom. Next I stamped the sentiment and cut out the banner and added that with some foam tape. I colored the lion and lamb with Copics and cut them out with their matching dies and added them above the banner with foam tape. I then cut out the two snowflakes, one out of white card stock and one out of gold glitter card stock and mounted them with foam tape above the little lamb. I then mounted the whole white panel on the natural card base with foam tape.

  • Stamps: Greenery - Love Lives Here-Holdiays-PTI, Lion and Lamb- Carnival Cupcakes- Mama Elephant, Sentiment- Paper Smooches
  • Dies- Stitched die- Lil Inkers, Banner- My Favorite Things, White snowflake- My Favorite Things, Gold Snowflake- Spellbinders

I am entering this card in the Mama Elephant Anything goes challenge and Virginia's View Clean and Simple challenge.

And last but certainly not least, I thought I would share a picture of my little Halloween tree. After Halloween, I take the spooky ornaments off and add my Thanksgiving ones.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a very happy World Cardmaking Day!

Hugs,

Kay :)
