CTS #82

Hello friends!

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! I had a whole day in which I was able to do absolutely nothing but play in my craft room. Oh how I love it when life works out that way :)

I created another card with some of my newly acquired purchases. I have a LOT of newly acquired purchases! Something happened to me over the past few weeks. I usually don't start this until the fall and Christmas stuff starts coming out, but I have been loving all the cute spring and summer stuff this year.

Anyway, I created this card with some of my Lawn Fawn goodies!

I used Hello Baby and Blissful Botanicals stamps and dies and from Lawn Fawn. I watercolored the background before adding everything with foam tape. Isn't that bunny darling! I just love it to pieces!

I'm adding this to the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a happy week!

Hugs,

Kay :)

The Cuttting Edge Challenge #!

Happy Saturday my friends!

Today is my post as guest designer for the new Cutting Edge Challenge! I am so excited and honored to be participating in the first challenge! The team has done some amazing things with the inspiration photo. I hope you will join us!

Find out all the details and how to participate HERE

Okay, here’s the gig!  We were to be inspired by this AH-MAZING project created by Jackie Rockwell in some way, and include die-cutting (any and all forms accepted) in our design!  There’s so much about this project to be inspired by, right?!

I was definitely inspired by the polka dotted background and knew that I wanted to incorporate that into my design. I tried several things, to no avail. I tried patterned paper, random stamping and die cut dots, but they were all too dominant, and took away from my focal point. I finally decided on the stenciling, which I kept very subtle, so as not to distract, and I really loved the effect.

Here is what I came up with:

I don't have a large polka dot stencil, so I used my PTI Cover Plate Circle die. I punched out just the circles and sponged ink over it.  I then cut out the rounded squares from Avery Elle and mounted them with foam tape. The flower is a combination of dies from Papertrey Ink and My Favorite Things. The Hello die is from Serendipity.

Check out all the amazing projects from the other designers at The Cutting Edge!

  • The two winners of the $25 Avery Elle gift certificates are being announced;
  • The first half of the The Cutting Edge Design Team [including ME as the first Guest Designer] are sharing their samples for the challenge, and they are pretty spectacular;
  • The rules and regulations of the Challenge are listed; and
  • The InLinkz link-up tool for you to link up YOUR project!

So, what are you waiting for?!  You can find everything you need to play along HERE.  We can’t wait to see what you create!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Festive Friday #34 Reminder

Hello my friends!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week!

I just wanted to remind everyone that there is still a week left on the current Festive Friday challenge!

The inspiration photo is just gorgeous and I couldn't keep from making another card in one of my very favorite color schemes, pink and aqua! Love it!

Here is what I came up with:

This card uses another one of my recent acquisitions from Taylored Expressions, this lovely little tree die. The banner is from Cottage Cuts. I cut two of the banners out and cut the top piece from the lighter pink and attached it to the top of the darker pink one with foam tape. The joy is an alpha die set from My Favorite Things. The stitched mat is from Lil Inkers and the yellow rounded mat is from Sizzix.

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday!

You can also check out the amazing talent from the other design team members at Festive Friday!

Thank so much for stopping by!

I hope you all have a safe and happy weekend!

Card Concept #13

Hello my friends!

It's time for another fabulous challenge at The Card Concept!

This weeks challenge is to create a baby card.

Believe it or not, as long as I've been stamping, I have never own anything close to a baby stamp or set of stamps... but , when Lawn Fawn came out with their recent new release, they had a darling new baby set! I have to admit, I did not buy it for the baby stuff, I bought it for the absolutely adorable bunnies and the umbrella! Not that I don't like babies. I had two and I adored them as babies, and  still do :), I'm just not drawn to baby stuff.

Anyway, here is what I did for my baby card :)

I watercolored!! Yes I did! I haven't watercolored in 20 years, but it is all the rage now, so I pulled out my watercolors and painted that background there. It shows up better in real life. It looks pretty washed out in my photo here, but it's there! I had a hard time with my paper warping, and Miss Darnell informed me that I need to use thicker watercolor paper. I just used my 120lb white card stock. I ironed it... I'll try the watercolor paper next time ;)

I colored those cute little images with Copics, cut them out and popped them up with foam tape. The stamps and the stitched mat are all from Lawn Fawn. The scalloped frame is from My Favorite Things.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Stop by and see what the other designers have created and  I hope you'll join us for the challenge at The Card Concept!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Addicted to CAS Sun

Hello there!

For someone who loves winter and doesn't particularly care for summer ( heat and humidity) I sure do love making little beach scene cards. I guess it's in my blood since I am from Florida, and spent much of my summers playing on the coast... fond memories :)

Anyway, I have another little beach scene card to share with you today!

I used my new Taylored Expressions dies for this card. They have come out with some new tiny dies that are called Little Bits and they are just adorable! The banner is from Papertrey Ink and the sentiment is from WPlus9.

I'm adding this to the Addicted To CAS challenge this week which is sun!

I have a cute photo I wanted to share with you too.  We homeschool, and my daughter was working on her math, when I came into the room and saw this. I'm not sure how she manages to work with a dog in her lap, but it was so cute I had to run get the camera. Frito was quite content to sit there with her for quite a while!

Isn't he precious :) He's my baby.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a wonderful week!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Guest Designer for The Cutting Edge!

Good Saturday Morning!

I am super excited to share with you the wonderful news that I was chosen as one of the guest designers for the new challenge The Cutting Edge! Yippee! I'm so thrilled to be chosen, as there were so many beautiful cards entered. It's quite an honor :) When I first heard about this challenge on Jackie's blog, I was so excited, as die cuts and my cameo are my favorite things when it comes to card making! I LOVE cutting stuff out! I have bins, bags, and boxes of stuff I've cut out just waiting to be added to a card!

The first challenge starts June 28! I hope you will play along with us!

Well, I can't just announce something and run off without leaving something for you to look at, so here's a card I made this week using some dies that I love!

The leafy thing die is from Memory Box, the big flower and button are from My Favorite Things, and then small flowers are from Impression Obsession. The sentiment is from Verve.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hope you have a wonderful and safe weekend!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Hello my friends!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week!

It's time again for another challenge at Festive Friday!

Here are the dies that I used:

Joy-Taylored Expressions
3x4 mat- Taylored Expressions
Stitched circle- Lil Inkers
Rounded square- Avery Elle
Flowers- Papertrey Ink
Bow- Cottage Cuts

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday!

More Lawn Fawn Cuties and New Ornaments!

Hello Friends and Happy Thursday!

I have a few more of my Lawn Fawn cards to show today!

These were created with the Life Is Good stamp set and matching dies from Lawn Fawn. The stitched mat is also from Lawn Fawn and the big yellow sun is from Hero Arts. I colored everything with my Copic Markers.

I want to thank you all so much for your sweet comments about my new mini ornaments, and I want to thank you for buying them too! Now I have stamp money! haha! So happy!

I have added some new full size ornaments to my store this morning, and I want to let everyone know, that while I do not do custom orders, I will accept things like " do you have anymore butterflies" or "if you had a purple house I would probably buy it".  I'm okay with that kind of thing ;) So most of these I just put on are because of statements like  the ones above, except I made up the purple house one :)

Anyway these are FUN!! :D

If you want a closer peek you can find them at

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with some Festive Friday Fun!

Hugs,

Kay :)

New Mini Ornaments added to My Etsy Store

Hello dear friends!

I had a lot of people wanting to know if I was going to add the mini ornaments I showed in one of my last post to my store. Well, I was making them for my own little tree, but since I had so much interest I made some to go in my store.

I just added ten new minis to the store today! You can check them out at My Joyful Moments Etsy Store if you're interested :)

They each measure approximately 2 inches in diameter and they are only $6.00 each!

Here are just a few previews of some of the ones I put on:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I'll be back tomorrow with new cards!

Kay :)

The Cutting Edge Challenge

Hi Friends!

I hope you all had a nice Father's day! I spent a little time with my Dad before he politely let me, and the rest of us kids know, that he was ready for his nap!

So have you heard about the new Cutting Edge Challenge? Jackie Rockwell started it, and she has a rock star line up of designers! It looks fabulous and right up my alley, as I LOVE dies and cutting stuff out! Anyway, they are having a little challenge ahead of time to pick a guest designer to join them for the first challenge. I'm adding my  card here to the challenge. I'm not a competitive sort, but I couldn't wait for the first challenge to start, so I thought I'd go ahead and play along :)

Here are the details if you want to play along too!

You have to use one of the designers card for inspiration. I chose the one in the lower right corner.

I had to add the rainbow... and the little house and trees, and the flowers and the .... Okay I had a hard time stopping adding things :D

Here's a list of all the dies I used :

Rainbow-MFT
Clouds- Lil Inkers
Sun- Lil Inkers
Stitched mat- Lil Inkers
Hills- Taylored Expressions
Flowers- Impression Obsession

Those nifty little enamel dots are some of my fabulous Perler beads melted in the oven at 400 degrees for 15 minutes! If you decide to do this though, you need to open all the windows in the house! They are a bit smelly when they're melting :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you all have a fabulous week!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Life is Good

Hello lovely friends!

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. The weather here could not be anymore wonderful! We are in the low seventies and the sun is shining and the humidity is low. Aaaaahh! I should be outside playing in it! But I have cards to make! haha! And I don't get many days where I have uninterrupted time like this :)

After I posted my card I made with my new Lawn Fawn goodies, and added to my post that I had indeed made eight of them with this set, I had several people comment and email that they would love to see the rest of them. I really hate to bombard you with 7 cards in one single post, so I thought I would spread them out over a few days, so I'm showing two of them today.

And I'm going to add this one to the Card Concept Challenge, because this was my week off and I hate missing the nautical theme! I LOVE anything nautical! It must be from my Florida roots and owning a Marine supply store and a seafood market.

Everything on both cards is from Lawn Fawn, except for the rectangle stitched dies which are from Lil Inkers. I used the stamp set and matching dies called Life is Good.  ( I just love that) The stitched flag die is from Lawn Fawn too. Colored everything with Copic markers.

I cannot begin to express how much fun I had using this set of stamps and making my eight cards!!! Are there other people out there who's greatest source of joy is a new stamp set and matching dies??? Please tell me I'm not alone! haha!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Hello my friends!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week!

Just a little reminder that there is still a whole week left to join us for the challenge at Festive Friday!

Here is the gorgeous inspiration photo for this time around.

Here is what I came up with:

This time around, I was inspired be the little Christmas tree and presents. The two trees I cut out with my Silhouette Cameo and the little presents are from CTMH. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday!

You can also check out the amazing talent from the other design team members at Festive Friday!

CAS(E) This Sketch #79 and Other Stuff

Hello all!

Hope you all had a nice weekend.  It was cool, overcast and drizzly here, but I kind of like that kind of weather. It's better than hot by far :)

Anyway, I haven't done any challenges in a long time other than the ones for my design teams, but I kind of got the itch to do some over the weekend. I loved the sketch for CAS(E) This Sketch;

so I gave this one a try.

The flowers and leaf stamps and dies are from Papertrey Ink, the little Enjoy sentiment is from Verve, and I am sorry, but the papers are just little scraps out of my scrap drawer of unknown origin.

I've also had a few other little piddling projects going on in the craft room lately. I've been playing with my Perler Beads a bit, and made a fun design to fit in a little frame that sits on my shadow box.

And yes, that La La Loopsy is mine! heheh!

I've also been playing with my clay. A couple of weekends ago, we took a little day trip to a town called Kimswick, where they have the largest Christmas store in Missouri! Oh my! :D Of course I had to stop, and it was lovely!! I bought an adorable little snow covered Christmas tree. It's only about two feet tall. On the way home, all I could think about was making tiny little clay ornaments for my precious little tree!

I'm so excited about them! I love making them even better than the big ones. I've always liked miniatures and tiny things though. I can't wait to see them on my tree! The only thing is that they are so small, it's taking me forever to fill up my tray to bake them!

So that's what I've been up to lately!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you all have a happy week!

Hugs,

Kay :)

NBUS #1

Hello and Happy Sunday!

I hope everyone has had a nice weekend. I spent the whole day yesterday all by myself in my craft room making cards. Is that heaven or what? There's not much I'd rather do :) I got my order of Lawn Fawn goodies, so I had lots of funness to play with. I like to take a new set and make several cards with it, so I get to know it. So yesterday I used my adorable new set called Life is Good to created eight cards! That's right! Eight with one set! There were so many cute little things in the set, that I had to color and die cut lots of them :)

So since this is new-never-been-used-schtuff, I am adding it Darnell's new challenge!!

I think everyone who reads my blog probably knows Darnell, but if you don't, you should! So check out her blog here. She's so sweet and she's down right hilarious! I can't tell you how many times, I have sat and laughed right out loud reading her entertaining blog posts! Anyway, since her followers have reached 500, she decided to have a challenge. You can read all about it here. She's even giving away prizes to winners, so hop right over there and play along :)

Anyway, here's one of my eight cards I made with my super cute new little Lawn Fawn stamps!

The large stitched die is from Lil Inkers and the waves I die cut with a scalloped die from MFT. I just turned it upside down. Everything else is from Lawn Fawn. The stamps are all from the set Life is Good, except for the cloud, which is from Bon Voyage. I colored all the little designs with my Copic Markers.

There you have it! So much fun!

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Hugs,

Kay :)
